The poll reveals that almost half of Americans want Washington lawmakers to repeal all or parts of the health care reform law. However, when asked about specifics, most want to keep key provisions. Over 70 percent want to keep the parts that provide tax credits to small businesses and financial help to Americans who don't get insurance through their jobs. A majority also want to keep provisions that close the Medicare doughnut hole and prohibit denying coverage due to pre-existing conditions. The requirement for all Americans to have health insurance or risk paying a fine is the lightning rod of health care reform. Sixty-eight percent of Americans want this provision repealed.
I think republicans better keep all of this in mind when they take over the congress and try to repeal "Obamacare". Republicans say that they are going to listen to the American people. Question is which ones will they listen to?
So lets see - the public wants the Democrat's ideas that resemble a universal, single payer system (or at least a robust public option - which a majority of voters favored when it was on the table) and they reject the Rebuplican idea of the private mandate which we were saddled with after the Democrats lost their supermajority in the Senate. Why Democrats are so weak and insist upon compromising is beyond me.

Leave it as is: 20
Change it so that it does MORE to change the health care system: 38
Change it so that it does LESS to change the health care system: 8
Repeal it completely: 31
That's a combined 39% for repealing part or all, and a combined 58% to leave it as it or have it do more.

Exactly. Republicans get in and run their agenda through, Democrats be damned. Obama made all of this fuss about our "broken politics" during the campaign that pretty much forced him to make key compromises that severely weakened the force of what he was trying to do.
It would be the height of irony if a ruling was issued that opened the door to a public option in relation to the lawsuit that some states brought against the feds because of the individual mandate. I actually think that has a good chance of happening.
Ok, someone tell me in clear informed english, what exactly is wrong with the health care bill. It will cost us next to nothing and give alot of people access to affordable insurance. I guess you guys are the same people who won't admit that tax cuts costs us more money than they're worth. They cut the public option for you guys, I don't see how making pooled insurance available to the greater public is a bad thing.
I guess you would rather people who can't afford insurance fail to get the health care they need? How does that help us? By the way I'm in a bracket that would be paying higher taxes, I'm willing to pay more than my share how about you?
Please don't bring up Canada, that doesn't work near as badly as neocons would portray it, god forbid Mr. Howell doesn't get preference over the common man at the doctors office.
Btw you do realize that the automotive bailouts will pay for themselves as well as will the bank bailouts that were initiated by W.
This coming from a former Republican, please find some balanced news source to check the facts for yourself, and god forbid don't use fox news as your source. They splice and tape together segments all of the time for their own game and people are eating it up, use CNN. Ohh they're liberal you say, bull.....Do you realize the liberals talk all the time about how the corporate media only portrays the views of the right, the same way hannity talks about the corporate media only portraying the views of the left. Whose right? Probably neither. The balanced view of CNN and the networks is pissing off both sides who don't want to hear common sense news. The parties aren't teams guys, there are real issues here that need to be resolved and there are people out there dying because they can't get access to insurance, how is that a party issue?
