Default Americans For Truth About Homosexuality is worried about gay TSA agents

Quote:
"But what about homosexual TSA agents?" AFTAH President Peter LaBarbera responded. "Isn't it just as inappropriate for a 'gay' male TSA agent to pat down male travelers as it is for a normal, heterosexual male TSA agent to pat down female travelers?

The bottom line is that the PASSENGER should get to say what gender the TSA officer is. I do not want a same gender pat down. Others may. Should be left up to the passenger and what they are comfortable with.

Very good point. The people who get anxious about which gender is patting them down are forgetting that sexuality can be very fluid. There are lots of homosexual and "occasionally bisexual" people out there.

Well we dont "generally" allow cross gender pat downs... What is the reason behind that? and wouldn't those same reasons apply to gay TSA officers?

For me I have a huge problem with the pat downs in general! its rediculous and does NOT make us safer. People need to understand managed risk.. We are basicaly spending billons of dollars so we dont offend anyone..

And the argument "you dont have to fly" is stupid! I dont have to drive my car either but I certainly dont expect the police to have perminant road block at the end of my street searching my car... every day!

I agree with TXboomerang. let me decide who I want for a pat down.... Infact let me pick out the specific girl.. See how comfortable that makes them feel.... I like you! I want YOU to handle my junk!

So if something improper does happen should the TSA agent be held to account?

TSA Agent: "Sir, is that a bomb in your pocket"
Traveler: "No, but it will explode if you keep touching me like that. Wink, wink."

If I was flying, I honestly wouldn't care if it was male, female, LGBT, or even alien patting me down. If there was groping involved, I'd just charge my hourly rate and move on.
