ABC on-air policy about wearing American flags-Truth!

I guess this all started when Obama did not salute the flag. As long as Obama seems to be ashamed of our country, those in the media will follow.

Let's all wear our flag pins at all times and everywhere we go. Put flag stamps on our mail.

Don't trust that website. It is usually inaccurate. Anyway, a lot of places have that policy of not wearing ANYTHING on your clothing.

A little late don't you think. The article posted is dated in 2002.

Gee, who was president then?
I guess it started way before Obama.

Who needs facts when opinion and old news can be presented?

A 10 year old story thats more rumor then fact.

It was suggested at ABC then, and similar un-written policies have been in around in most media since the beginning of TV news, not just starting with 2001.

Most cameramen & producers don't allow their reporters to wear pins of any kind, mainly because of un-necessary and un-controllable glare in the camera lens. At the station I worked at (in 2001), only in studio anchors could wear them (as their was time to de-gloss the pin). Funny thing was no one noticed or cared one way or the other.

For reporters outside the country, it could make them targets for attack or kidnapping.

Wearing a flag pin doesn't make one patriotic.

Exactly. If someone wants to wear one, fine. It's not compulsory to wear a pin in order to be a real patriot.

It's so nice when these fools are made to look like fools.

Wearing a flag pin would project the implied image that the reporter is pro-American which, as we can see by a lot of their reporting, they are not.

They should be wearing non-reflecting globe pins since they, as Obama, strive to live up to the title
"Citizen of the World".
