Why would the extra taxes make the economy worse?

Where are the taxes going? Back into the economy via government spending on healthcare correct?

And do tell us more about the "mandatory civilian service" that Obama is coming up with?

Did I by chance see you at the "Stop the FEMA Prison Camps" rally?.............. Is the that you Burt?

Well people don't have enough money, so when they pay more taxes, they start cutting down to 2 meals a day.

All I know about the mandatory service is the 1 liner Obama said in a speech when he became President. The media doesn't talk about it.

Yes! Thank you Chris Matthews! How is that feeling in your leg these days??

Oh and for those that are unaware...I believe raising taxes is a bad idea when the economy is bad....is a bad idea because Economics 101 tells us that.

The gov't creates DEBT, not JOBS, so raising taxes will not help the unemployed in the long term. And for those who try to make the silly argument that money collected by the gov't goes to "build the infrastructure", please go sell crazy someplace else, we're all stocked up here(Jack Nicholson in AS GOOD AS IT GETS)

Wasn't it John Conyers who said, "I love all these people who say read the bill, read the bill. There are over 2,000 pages in some of these bills. I would need an attorney to interpret the bill for me before I voted on it!"

Ummm.....John...that's why we pay you $170,000 plus per year!! That's why you got elected to the Congress!! So you could read the freakin bills before you voted on them!! That's how a representative republic is supposed to work John!

Equally absurd...Nancy Pelosi..."We have to pass the healthcare bill so we can find out what's in it!"
