Former Alaska Governor Sarah Palin on Sunday urged her fellow Americans not to forget Haiti as she wrapped up a two-day visit to the crisis-torn Caribbean country.
Maybe she is using her public forum to draw attention to the horrific need and suffering in Haiti -- a small, 4th world country just 600 miles from our border -- which, in the midst of our own economic difficulties, many have forgotten about. People there are literally living in cardboard boxes (if they can find them) and eating garbage or starving. -- Being cynical about S. Palin doesn't alter the sad facts.
She would have gotten there sooner, but the book tour, reality show, interviews and stints on Fox were far too pressing. Yes, her trip to Haiti is totally unslefish. I hear they will be re-branding Ms. Palin...Mother Theresa Palin as soon as the first photo ops are published. I wonder if she realizes that the Haitian people are not compensating her monetarily to visit.

The situation in Haiti may be dire, but I seriously doubt Sarah is altruistically motivated. Still "The lord works in mysterious ways".
