That said, if the Obama administration decided to hold back aid because of it that would be his decision, right or wrong.
The President nor his administration decide who gets foreign aid and who doesn't. This is done by the Congressional foreign aid appropriations subcommittee, not the Obama administration.

Many of new GOP members of Congress are determined to cut American foreign aid, regardless of destination

Rand Paul, the newly elected Tea Party-backed senator from Kentucky, bluntly told the American Israeli Public Affairs Committee, an influential pro-Israel lobbying group, that they were going to disagree about the need for foreign aid and suggested that they move on to other topics, according to a person briefed on the meeting
If Rand wants to go after the Israelists, he'll need to after their bank.

What committee is he on, anyway?

A) bad style
B) a militaristic paranoid country. When they decide to do things on occupied land, it ceases to be only their affair.

It would definitely be right, but the US still has to emancipate herself from Israel and its lobbies within the US.

Yes but the President has considerable influence.

Israels nightmare is happening. The American public is waking up to the fact that although Israel may be our ally they are a fickle friend at best. Many are starting to question our unconditional support of an ally that seems to make a habit out of putting the USA in a different awkward position all to often.
Israel makes no apologies for spying on us nor for selling the secretes that they have stolen.
Israel justifies their actions as what anyone would do to survive.
Their next line of defence which has worked quite well is the charge of anti-semitic against anyone who disagrees with our unconditional support.
The bright side is that people are starting to understand that there is the Gov of Israel and there are the people of Israel. One is not synonymous with the other. Just as friend and ally are not synonymous.

I don't know if you are aware of it or not but the "Koch Brothers" thing is not working. Most people in the tea Party have no idea who they are. What I do know is the great news that the Tea Party is growing and across the country they aided in throwing those scumbag democrats out.

Jews are some of the richest people in the world and they need to buy the weapons needed to protect their country. It's time we stop sending OUR tax dollars to all other countries and take care of America first. Charity can take care of the poor around the world. Americans have always been the most generous.

No, the President does not have influence on foreign aid money, its a matter of purse strings and Congress by the US Constitution controls the nations purse. The President and his administration do not get to decide how much money, who gets, who doesn't get it.

You've got it all wrong, T.

This is an example of why Rand Paul was the one Republican candidate I didn't entirely mind seeing elected--as well as seeing Conway's contemptible last-minute play for the hyper-Christian vote.

Well I have to wonder what took people so long? I mean when we look at our own country we can see the polarization in our politics and government. To suggest the USA and all its people "believe this way" couldn't be further from the truth because we believe 300+ million different ways. The same holds true for Israel. What its government does isn't necessary how its people feels at any given time on any given subject. I could point to endless articles in the Israeli news which are highly critical of its own government, but you rarely find those views being expressed in the United States.

Defense of Israel's government and its actions generally comes more from the right in the US. It runs into a peculiar problem as when issues like Iraq in the past or Iran in the present come up, the argument is made that Israel is a very strong and powerful nation that can quite adequately defend itself. So then you ask, why does such a strong nation, which is like the 16th most wealthy nation on earth per capita, need so much foreign aid money from the United States then. Usually the next argument is because Israel is surrounded by enemies, and this is certainly at least in part true. However the United States didn't make them live there and at some point Israel is going to have to learn to get along with its neighbors or die fighting them all.

As I've said before, one cannot afford to have a civilization and a perpetual state of war at the same time. At some point they will have to decide for themselves and themselves alone what course of action they plan on taking in the long run because the United States is not an endless supply of free money.
