When Sarah was governor she turned down Obama's stimulus money. She didnt want the federal goverment having more control of our great state then they already have. Socialist no, great american yes.
The biggest single chunk of money that Palin is turning down is about $170 million for education, including money that would go for programs to help economically disadvantaged and special needs students. Anchorage School Superintendent Carol Comeau said she is "shocked and very disappointed" that Palin would reject the schools money. She said it could be used for job preservation, teacher training, and helping kids who need it.
We already pay 22,000 dollars a year to educate a kid in anchorage. How much more money do they need. Private schools do it for about 7,500 dollars a kid. Private schools have higher sat scores and a better percentage of kids finishing school. Alaska public schools have the highest drop out rate in the U.S. and the eight dumpest kids. Comeau is more interested in new schools and personnel offices then teaching children.

Back (in the days of the Stone Age) when I learned the difference between communism and socialism, one of the distinctions was that in communism the state owns all the means of production and in socialism the state owns less than all of it. Anyone care to contradict that?

If one is going by the actual definitions in communism the state owns all property and businesses. In socialism the workers own the means of production, not necessarily the government.

22k? Isn't that more than is spent in D.C. schools? Funny, no one ever complains about this expenditure, but there is always complaining about money spent on D.C. schools. Wonder why? (i already know..just being rhetorical)
Lets not forget that Governor Sarah Palin sold the jet that Governor Frank Murkowski purchased for $2.7 million. This jet airplane was bought for the exclusive use of the governor himself in 2005. This is the same jet he took on a $13,000 Asian trip after he lost the primary election just before he had to leave office? Now if she was just out for Sarah and a true con artist wouldn't she have kept this jet for her private use like her predecessor? She could have easily said i tried to sell it and no one wanted it. She is a great American.
Oh and Sarah Palin is simply an opportunist and a con-woman. She says what gets her elected and what brings her more power.
And that totally sets her apart from all the other politicians out there who only serve out of a sense of duty to their fellow citizens and mean absolutely everything they say.
She's an opportunist. She rode her failed VP nod, quit office and said to hell with the people of alaska. Her new venture is to milk the fools for all they're worth.
she is still for the betterment of the U.S.A. unlike Obama who is trying to pass cap and trade for the betterment the world. disregarding the American people and what will happen to the U.S.A. Obama became president to purposely distribute Americans wealth to other nations if palin is saying the hell with alaska then Obama is saying the hell with the american people and this nation!!
