I see so many posts on this forum that claim there's so much incompetence in the government. So, I wanna know, does everyone still think it's incompetence, or what we perceive as incompetence, is done on purpose? Like securing the border for example or economic policy. Somehow I think blaming everything on incompetence seems too convenient, and oddly frequent. Anyone else noticed this? I hardly think the government is "incompetent", more like corrupt

Some feel the corruption is planned. That makes it pretty competent. For thieves.
We vote for competence and thieves blossom afterwards.
We get stuck for years trying to dislodge these parasites. They get in and vote themselves everything they want or desire. Full pensions after one term. Raises that rival what some citizen taxpayers make per year. Perks after perks after perks. These are why those that go into office change into the thieves they become.
And they wonder why movements like the Tea Party have become popular.

That's what I mean. You read the comments on Fox news and MSNBC, and a lot of the people always make comments regarding incompetence. If they are so dumb, why do they get away with it so often? And I also think that the government is ran by smart people, which is why they can get away with so much. The people that run the government like you said, are competent people, but at the same time thieves

Any large organization, be it a corporation, political party, a government or a religion, will have a degree of incompetence due to size. But the whole group isn't.
Smaller groups also have the same degree but due to their size, failure is usually the end result.
Appear clueless to the masses so you can keep their attentions diverted. By appearing incompetent you are not as likely to be held accountable.
Government has it's own agenda & is riled with corruption & they know exactly what they are doing.
That's what I thought when Bush was president. And I'm thinking the same thing about Palin as well. I think these are all staged so people are too busy arguing about who's dumber, and the gaffes they made, rather than looking behind the curtain
There was a time when the office of the President of the U.S. was respected by Americans, even though folks disagreed with his policies. Then came the 60's, in particular, Vietnam; and suddenly, every college student in America became an 'expert' and the President became 'stupid.' Then there was 'Watergate' and later 'Clintongate' ... and some would now argue 'Bushgate/Obamagate'. But, the bottom line is that we lost respect for our elected leaders, "and every man has become his own 'President'".
The odd thing about hateful partisan rhetoric is that 'working together as Americans to find solutions' has morphed into a 'point-the-finger blame game.' In that scenario, everyone (including congress and the senate) have found it much easier to become self-appointed, 10-second experts in 'pointing- out the 'obvious' faults of others', .... instead of becoming part of the solution as 'problem solvers' and 'leaders' ... or, at least, supporters of our elected leaders.

Hmm....9/11 BUT that is all I will say.
Yes, so much is blamed on incompetence, but if you listen to Alex Jones...
