Why did he consent to a search? If they had to ask, they didn't have any probable cause. NEVER consent to a search. When you do, you voluntarily surrender your rights under the fourth amendment.

That's not true. Arizona residents are to blame. In 2008, Arizona voters rejected Prop 202 which would have required Arizona companies to verify the ID of employees and punish companies for hiring illegals whether they "willingly hired an illegal" or not.

It was pure hypocrisy on Arizona's part. The companies didn't want to be held liable for hiring an illegal with fake papers and companies didn't want to have the responsibility of verifying their employees' ID's. So in other words, they wanted to pass the buck. They want to prevent Illegals from coming in but they don't want to be punished if they fail to do their part.

The reality is companies in Arizona could use E-verify to screen applicants but they don't want to do that because

1. it costs money
2. They secretly want to hire illegals because it makes them more money....see construction industry in Arizona

I love Arizona but prop 202's failure clearly displayed the hypocrisy of Arizona residents. They want enough illegals to profit off them and use them but they don't want too many to cause crime or burden our healthcare system. Total b.s.

Gay-marriage ban OK'd; other amendments mixed
