If you have it your way, we might as well just give in and surrender to our enemies.
But the publication of those items IS illegal under the Espionage Act.

wikileaks did not publish that narrow area of military info which is illegal to do so.

Every right winger that has come on this thread and made comments just proves how ignorant they are of the subject at hand.

I'm sorry, but what "Espionage Act" are you referring to?

Are you asking this out of ignorance or is there more than one Espionage act?

So who causes more harm? Wikileaks for releasing the dirty secrets of government, or the governments themselves? I cannot see how people are faulting wikileaks at all for releasing this. They are the good guys here.

They released the names of the Afghanistan people who are helping fight the Taliban, and the Taliban announces they are seeking out those people and killing them. Wikileaks are the good guys? I totally disagree and believe they should be prosecuted or shot in a back alley.

Which pales in comparison to all the many thousands of innocents our own armed forces have killed as 'collateral damage' in those two jokes of wars in the mideast. When it comes to harm done, our own gov't actions cannot be trumped.

These links don't refute anything our own military is saying or tell us anything new.

The Taliban hasn't retaliated against any informers due to wikileaks.

Your own article states this fact.

Personally, I would like to see the individuals that leaked these docs tried for espionage and/or treason, and I would like to see the principals behind WikiLeaks brought up on espionage charges and sent to prison for a very, very long time.

These misguided fools think they are doing some greater service, when in fact all they doing is putting Americans in danger and making us less secure. Classified documents are classified for a reason, and stealing them to give to foriegn entities is espionage, and those who have possession of them illegally are also criminals.

This crap has got to stop.

they deserve medals! the real question is why is our govt involved in so much illegal activity. i'm so tired of all this closed door nonsense. i would like to see high level negotiations taking place on public tv all this secret stuff doesn't enhance a free society

Freedom. Do you recognize it? Freedom to tell the truth, ya know the whole motto for the United States? Is it scary that when you actually see it you don't recognize it? If women in Afghanistan were allowed to speak freely there would be no Taliban. Get the picture? Freedom not freedom to protect the forces running the world but freedom.....
