And since you've only been a cop for 22 years, that would make you too young to have participated in that encounter.

And I think you will find that many people do not find you overpaid, it's just rather distasteful to think that you should be entitled to a lifetime of support after you retire while nobody outside of the government gets such a deal.
Going to step in, probably unneccessarily, but here goes.

About the guy being entitled to lifetime of support after he retires. What is wrong with this picture???? NOTHING. What exactly are you arguing against? The fact that men and women who spend decades of their lives in hazardous careers should not have retirement benefits?????

I can understand your opinion that our country has not actually been threatened for many decades, but really, its a sheer spit in the face when you have guys and gals serving for various reasons and you spit on that fact. In addition, no civilian is really at liberty to judge that America has been "free from threat" so I would like to say your post is a bit naive in that respect.

Oh, and plenty of people outside gov positions get retirement deals. In fact, I would say, off the cuff, that soldiers get particularly f'd over considering what they do, time put in, mental and physical illnesses accumulated. I suggest you buddy up with some soldiers to actually get a clue about what military service does to people, and does for people. You seem to have a warped view.

What do I do for my country-

I VOTE and HAVE in every election since the age of 18. People died so I can vote and I do...
I thank my service men & women
I fly the American Flag
I support the troops-I still physically get sick knowing people actually spit on our troops during Vietnam
I think for myself-I do not stick with one party..
I believe in CAPITALISM-it's the best-
I WATCH THE NEWS and try to be informed....no one likes a stupid American.
I pay my taxes-I've never cheated or not paid...hmm does that remind you of a government official...Bern..anyway

And seeing that this guy is allegedly a mirror site provider for Wikileaks, hopefully he will soon be seeing life with his warped outlook from federal prison.

Have you never taken the time to figure out just how much of your money the various governments over you take of every dollar you earn? And as you do the math, understand that I consider Social Security a Baby Boomer tax, since I'm too young to where I have any delusion of seeing a nickel of it. Same with Medicare.

2.Remove the Tax from the Wage Tax
3.Let all Bush Tax Cuts Expire
4.A Cross Country High Speed Rail Line
5.Suspend ALL Foriegn Aid until the debt is paid off
6. $1 Transaction Tax on each share of stock traded
7. Freeze General Officer Promotions until the current number is reduced by 50%
8. Cancel the "Missle Shield" a system that doesn't work to protect us from a threat that doesn't exist
9. Require Foriegn Corporations to build their products here
