And thats unfortunate, to put it mildly.

No matter what happens, Bush/ Cheney will never be on trial.

It sucks. It really does but we have to move on and work on improving the damage they did to not just our country but to the world.

No I think you're mistaken. People's faith in justice are on the line. We're about freedom, a land ruled by law, except when it's someone rich or powerful? The law only applies to people we don't like or can't pay bribes? Is this what capitalism is all about?

No, let the case proceed. I think back all those years-- Ford should have let the case proceed too. Saving face erodes the faith people have not just in politicians, but in the system itself. Republicans have a holy cow and raise a marital indiscretion to national security importance, 70 million investigation, but when thousands of people lose their lives needlessly, lies told, agendas set, bend every law that defines us until it breaks. Crime is legal so long as it's a big enough crime. Crime only applies to petty thieves and juvenile delinquents who failed to pay their government for a license to steal. See the message?

You're probably right. It would be consistent arrogance if nothing else. Then he might find himself saying, gee toto, I don't think we're in Kansas anymore.
