It's nothing until the wolf actually shows up and no one believes the boy.

They shouldn't invade North Korea but they should use massed artillery attacks to destroy North Korean military installations near the border. The problem is this very well might start off a general war but I don't see how they can continue to indulge North Korean violence.

Reference France in Vietnam, 1954. They were extricated from a horrendous mess by the gallant intervention of the United States. Suppose we hadn't done that?
Not comparable situations at all. France was a foreign power in the area assisted by another foreign power (the US). They didn't exactly have their homes and way of life to lose by pulling out of Vietnam.

A shooting war on Korean home turf, where the death toll could easily get extremlely high and heavily populated cities will be ruined is not "taking the burden off their shoulders".

Whatever they decide to do, they should do it WITHOUT our help. I have no problem with Korea going the way of Vietnam and repatriating.

I can go along with that. Any country that wants to start a war shouldn't be able to assume that the US is going to get involved.

If war did break out how will S.Korean deal with the tidal wave of refugees from the north? You know they would take their chance at freedom even if it meant death. All that would happen is rehashing history Pusan,Inchon,Chosan with the same players with death, destruction and the suffering of the masses...but now there are nukes...GOD help us!

I would carefully weigh all the options of my Country, rather seriously. You do not mess or play with NK who would not think of batting an eye, if pushed to their limit. How does anyone win, if they both nuke each other, if this measure can be prevented, i would seriously weigh all the odds for and against. When millions die, no one wins ever.

Who has "pushed NK to their limit?" This saber-rattling is all their own doing.
