Non citizens do not vote.

Why should students not be allowed to vote?

What kind of taxes? Federal?

Plenty of rednecks wouldn't be able to vote then since they don't pay fed taxes and that would hurt the right wingers more than anything.

Because you get a parasite class with no skin in the game. They will only vote to give themselves more and more handouts. They have no problem fiscally destroying this country in the process.

That being said, nothings going to change. It will continue being 18+ with no further qualifications.

This is absolutely crazy.

We have millions of people who either can't afford their own home or who choose NOT to own.

This is blatantly discriminatory to these folks. I cannot understand the mindset of further division of people in this country & those who advocate for it ,unless you are part of the bunch who have recently been calling those who are now unemployed "lazy bums".

This is a democracy. Simply because you don't agree with the direction of the country doesn't mean you should get your way.

When GWB was President, you probably said the exact opposite of what you are saying now.

Now that you beliefs are no longer being implemented, you say we shouldn't be allowed to vote. That's the exact opposite of a democracy.

That's a myth. In the red states, the non-taxpayers tend to vote democrat. There are a lot more welfare queen types who don't pay taxes in this country than rednecks. many of which are hard workers.

You are basically advocating the 3/5s rule. So you want a return to that too?

I agree with Iowian. Statistics show that people are more likely to vote, period, as their income goes up. Many of these "welfare queens" (a term I find offensive and sexist, BTW) don't vote at all.

No when GWB was President I was saying the same thing. Although once again, it's such a slim possibility of ever happening that I haven't devoted much energy on the subject.

Speaking of Democracy. There is a great quote I'll have to look up. It basically says when enough voters realize they can take from gov funds Democracy eventually comes to an end.

No we're not a democracy. Dead wrong on that. We're a representative republican federal republic, not a democracy

Yes. But not sales tax, just in case you'll try to be smart . If you earn income from a wage, salary, bonuses, investments, etc. and you pay a tax on that, you have a vested interest in how domestic fiscal policy goes.
