Collins and Snowe were also deeply involved with the negotiations, and fought to slide the amount of the stimulus down and the tax cut portion up. Without them the bill would have been blocked.
Obviously, obama now realizes the tax cuts in the Failed Stimulus were not enough.
That is what would have happened. 51 votes are needed (50 with the VP) to pass legislation, but 60 in order to actually hold a final up or down vote. Without Snowe and Collins no up or down vote would have been held on the Stimulus bill.
I asked for you to list bills that WERE filibustered, not ones that magically werent but would have. By your own admission you are talking about a bill that WASNT filibustered and then claiming it was..
Whatever the bills final result was, that doesnt mean it was filibustered. The bill PASSED,
A filibuster is when the bill never reaches the floor for a VOTE. By your own admission now the bill wasnt blocked, it was negotiated in the same manner every other bill in america gets passed..

Tax cut bill on bottom 98%
Pay fairness Act
Ending Tax Breaks on Companies that ship jobs overseas
Prohibiting foreign influence on elections
Defense Authorization Act
The top 5% already pay something like 60% of all federal income taxes, and 0bama and the dems want to raise it to what, 65%?
A lot of these so called "rich people" are running small businesses, and they have been hit hard, have had to cut back and even lay off employees, raising their taxes will only cause many of them to increase lay offs, cut back and get even smaller.
Let 0bama fire the 45,000 new federal jobs he created, or reduce the federal budget by the 15% that he increased it by. But no, we need to steal more money from the hard working people instead.
Only The Rich Pay TaxesTop 50% of Wage Earners Pay 96.03% of Income Taxes

There is new data for 2001. The share of total income taxes paid by the top 1% fell to 33.89% from 37.42% in 2000. This is mainly because their income share (not just wages) fell from 20.81% to 17.53%. However, their average tax rate actually rose slightly from 27.45% to 27.50%. http://www.rushlimbaugh.com/spc.gif (broken link)
