The so-called 'Fairness Doctine' is yet another piece of Democrat-sponsored hogwash; the citizens of this country have decided that we like listening to Beck, Limbaugh, Hannity & all of the other conservative talkers out there, as evidenced no only by the format's overwhelming success (most-listened to radio format in the nation since June 2008, after 16-plus years in second place, behind country), but by the legions of advertisers who salivate at the prospect of those listeners, many of them well-heeled with tons of disposable income.

The market place has convincingly proved that liberal talk radio is a recipe for disaster and is an unsustainable business model a la Circuit City, the Postal Service and too many other misbegotten entities to count.
There should be no "fairness doctrine" over and ENTERTAINMENT PROGRAM. Rush Limbaugh/Glenn Beck/ Sean Hannity/Andrew Wilkow are entertainment programs. They are not NEWS broadcasts. They are strong because people like their message and the sponsors agree.

Rev Al hates free speech too.
And ironically lets us all know while being interviewed on a lefty talk show over publicly owned airwaves.

I say speak freely Al, it lays the hypocrisy of your ilk out there for all to see.

The government doesn't own the airwaves, the people own them. The purpose of the government auctioning them off for a fee is to raise revenue, not to decide what they are used for.
Subsidizing one side's political arguments with taxpayer money is not the business of government and that is why public funding for the Corporation for Public Broadcasting must be ended. If the government can't choose to support a particular religion then they shouldn't be supporting a particular ideology either (in the case of NPR that ideology is leftist propaganda)

Anyway, this is just the Obama administration's thug way of trying to censor Fox News. Everyone knows that. They can't pass their agenda through congress so they are tying to 'regulate' it and hope that no one notices. Constitutionality be damned.
