And describing Jesus Christ as a "wine guzzling socialist" is certainly teaching "respect" for those with a Christian belief, isn't it?

Since when is that a requirement?

It presents an alternative point of view.

Free speech FTW.

Jesus would be the one throwing the Republicans out of the temple...but yeah, they are Pharisees.

Just remember that when Martin Luther King, Jr. is described as a communist and an adultererer and his activities were being investigated by the Kennedy White House and FBI.

Nelson Mandela was a terrorist and a murderer.

Did you read the post I was responding to? It said that reading about different religions/cultures in schools was a good thing because it teaches kids to learn to "respect" other peoples cultures. If that was his/her justification for including the wine guzzling socialist Jesus Christ book it fails poorly. Does it present an "alternative point of view" of Jesus? Most definitely. Does it belong in public schools because it is "Free speech?" Not if you are of the belief that there is or should be a separation of Church and State.

The Republicans have become the Great Temple of Greater Greed on Wall Street in the Capital of the World of Finance.

Anyone that challenges the primacy of these High Priests of Mammon is slandered, attacked, disparaged and condemned as a "socialist", "communist" or worst of all, a "wealth redistributer". I do not worship at that temple and consider the priests to be nothing more than thieves. The Capitalism I believe in works for all is not the Corporatism they practice.

As I said before Jesus Christ undoubtedly drank wine like his neighbors and despised people that took advantage of others. He was a very good man and the Money Changers had him killed for it.

Have you read the book? Or have you only read other people telling you what to think about the book and that out of context quote?

The author IS a Socialist. See previous poster's Wikipedia link. I'd relink it, but my computer is dying on me. I'll work to get it back up and repost if for you later.
