If the OP was surfing the net for a partisan right wing left wing bashing propaganda site, he sure found one.

I read the whole book. That author also didn't know why we should drug test workers, saying it had no purpose and only demeaned workers. (Maybe it was because amokin marijuana in Minnesota is illegal, but she didn't think of that.) I read it in a public school.

It is fine with me to assign a book like that to high school students. They can have a lively debate about it.

Of course, this phrase is used completely out of context. This is one of the best books I own and I have it located in my "books of high honor" book case.

I would advise everyone and I do mean EVERYONE to read it if you want a strong dose of reality. And if/when you read it you will see that the phrase used above was done so as an example of STUPIDITY rather than the beliefs of the author.

The media loves to take things out of context and use them for their own purposes, don't you know.

Wouldn't it be nice to have a choice in how your kids are educated instead of someone else's choices?

The Blaze? Biased.....The Blaze is a conservative news and opinion website launched on August 31, 2010, by American media personality and Fox News host Glenn Beck.

That is very interesting considering the entire book is about low-income, working class, and sometimes white trash people, and how unbelievably BAD their lives are - and usually BECAUSE OF THEIR OWN BEHAVIOR.

The book certainly is not what I would have expected from a Democratic Socialist. It certainly is not very kind and understanding toward working-class people and it certainly does not give me the impression that she feels that they are "disadvantaged" or somehow needing a "program" to make them a contributing member of society.

She really slams them and gives them hell. LOL
