Man, this guy just can't help himself from making these divisive swipes. He's the ultimate divider.

During a press conference today announcing a “tax cut” compromise, President Obama was sure to make some incredible claims. While saying that the GOP has held taxpayers “hostage” and continuing to posit the idea that Republicans are fighting for “tax cuts” for the rich, Obama prophesied that in two years the GOP will be fighting to end “middle class tax cuts” that they have staunchly“opposed”:

That is because they did just that. The GOP filibustered a vote in the Senate on Saturday to extend the cuts for those making under $250,000. Hell they did the same thing for extending the cuts for those making under $1,000,000.

And what would one expect from a community organizer in over his head?
He's a street politician.

Not exactly. The middle class tax cuts were never in dispute. The GOP didn't want an increase for anyone. They blocked that vote to make the Democrats deal with the issue where there was disagreement.

They were willing to let the tax cuts expire for the bottom 98% and hell the bottom 99.5% if the rich were not included. Obama was not willing to let the cuts expire if he didn't get what he wanted, the Republicans were willing to let them expire if they didn't get what they wanted.

Sheeple, party of one. Paging sheeple, party of one. Oh, there you are!

The GOP filibustered the vote on Saturday because it EXCLUDED tax cuts for all. The GOP was fighting to keep tax cuts for all, while the DEMOCRATS were fighting to end tax cuts for certain people. It's the Dems who are exclusionary, not the Republicans. For Obama to get behind a podium and say that with a straight face shows that he's become nothing but another Muppet who would rather play politics than govern. This will not sit well with independents such as myself come 2012.

No exactly, it was the Dems who were willing to see them expire for everyone. The Republicans want to continue the tax rates as they were.

But that isn't even what Obama said, he said they wanted to eliminate them for the middle class and continue them for the wealthy, a flat out lie.

One? One? You're gonna need a bigger table as there are a hell of a lot more than one here on C-D.

I've been on this site for years and some of the claims being thrown out here today by some are downright hilarious!
