The 1911. In my opinion 1 of the finest most reliable weapons ever made. 100 years later still a favorite of competition shooters.
The 45 acp round devestating in combat and in performance.
I can't think of a better choice in picking a state gun. But, I can't fathom why a state would need to name a state gun.

1. Its close to Idaho.
2. Its close to Wyoming.
