Moran (מוֹרָן, lit. Viburnum) is a kibbutz in northern Israel. Located in the Lower Galilee near Karmiel, it falls under the jurisdiction of Misgav Regional Council. In 2006 it had a population of 175.

So a violent ex-felon who is know for his blackmailing of people over phony causes is going to expect the FCC to stop Rush's show or his speaking anywhere because he creates conversation in the world that Al Sharpton doesn't like?

If he can't stand the heat, get out of the kitchen.
He can't win the war of ideas, so he's off to government for help.

Precious! I love it. I pray the FCC does something so it goes to the Supreme court.

The more conservative ideas are heard in proper context, the more liberals have to scream for a lack of reasoned response back IMO.

How entertaining. We need a new political reality show that is not news oriented. It would be a seriously funny joke, just pack the show with extremists and laugh at them making morons out of each other as well as themselves.
The set would have to include a boxing ring, teleprompters and canned laughter.

Rush tells a lot of half truths and out right lies. He is a hypocrite, he inspires hatred, and he is in my opinion a terrible human being.

BUT....

This is a free country, and if people want to listen to a liar, I won't be able to stop them by demanding the FCC pull him off of the air. Freedom of speech means freedom to lie. What someone needs to do is to file a civil suit against some of these guys, saying that they defamed them and caused them some financial or personal damage.

Thats hard to prove though, especially when he's got an army of lawyers.

Give one example of Rush Limbaugh telling an outright lie.

1. Radio host Rush Limbaugh falsely declared that President George W. Bush, in a State of the Union address, "disowned" fraudulent intelligence concerning alleged Iraqi efforts to obtain uranium from Africa. In fact, Bush did just the opposite: He touted the flawed intelligence as evidence of the Iraqi threat..

Limbaugh's false assertion came in response to a caller to the June 18 broadcast of The Rush Limbaugh Show

2. Radio host Rush Limbaugh lied about a recently released report by the 9-11 Commission: He falsely claimed that the report confirms Vice President Dick Cheney's claim that September 11 hijacker Mohamed Atta may have met with an Iraqi intelligence officer in April 2001. Limbaugh directly contradicted the report while purporting to summarize it.

From the June 17 broadcast

3. Nationally syndicated radio host Rush Limbaugh denied that anyone has ever suggested a connection between Iraq and the September 11, 2001, terrorist attacks and claimed that those who voted for President George W. Bush believe in only a general connection between Iraq and terrorism rather than a direct connection between Iraq and 9-11. In fact, a recent study indicates that 20 percent of Bush supporters believe in a direct Iraqi connection to 9-11, and an additional 55 percent believe Iraq at least provided "substantial support" to Al Qaeda during the Saddam Hussein era. Limbaugh made the false claim on November 8, after a Democratic caller remarked that many Bush supporters believe Iraq was directly involved in the attacks.

In making the false claim, Limbaugh overlooked Vice President Dick Cheney's suggestions of a connection between Iraq and 9-11. On the December 9, 2001, edition of NBC's Meet the Press, moderator Tim Russert asked Cheney if he "still believe[s] there is no evidence that Iraq was involved in September 11?" The vice president responded falsely that it was "pretty well confirmed" that an Iraqi intelligence officer met with September 11 hijacker Mohamed Atta shortly before the attacks. On the September 14, 2003, edition of Meet the Press, Cheney repeated his claim that Iraq and 9-11 are linked, saying: "If we're successful in Iraq ... we will have struck a major blow right at the heart of the base, if you will, the geographic base of the terrorists who have had us under assault now for many years, but most especially on 9-11."

An October 21 study (pdf) conducted by the nonpartisan Program on International Policy Attitudes contradicts Limbaugh's suggestion that Bush voters merely believe in a general "connection of terrorism in Iraq." According to the study, 75 percent of Bush supporters believe that Iraq under Saddam Hussein provided "substantial support" to Al Qaeda, and 20 percent of Bush supporters believe Iraq was directly involved in 9-11. The study found that only 30 percent of Senator John Kerry's supporters believe that Iraq provided substantial support to Al Qaeda, and only 8 percent of Kerry supporters believe Iraq was directly involved in 9-11.

From the November 8 edition

+1.

It's nice to see a fair minded argument from someone they happen to have disagreements with instead of the typical vitriol. The true test of free speech is defending speech one doesn't agree with.

Actually, factcheck was on a local radio show and gauged the # of truths, half truths, and "pants on fire" statements. Many of the figures on the left have a higher score on the truth column (for facts that can be verified, does not include rhetoric like today's taxpayer "hostage" comment)

...and I can't stand progressives.
