How does that change the actions? By their own admission they didnt look for a job for TEN months.. So thats acceptable to you to just milk the system until unemployment runs out becaues the economy collapsed? Oh, I get it, you're one of those clueless types who thinks that because the US has to borrow from China that it means that the rest of us aren't actually paying taxes, or the money we're paying in to the system isn't paying for things like this. Which makes you hopeless.
Your taxes haven't increased,yet unemployment has increased...you aren't paying it.
The money is borrowed or printed,your taxes probably wouldn't cover the costs of one minute of the costs to run the fedgov.
Yes. I support SSDI for those who truly cannot work, such as sydney, or at least for periods of time where their doctors will not allow them to work (not sure about his current situation). Another system that has a lot of waste but at least it's not as easy to scam as other forms of welfare.
So you like SOME welfare....you just want to choose who gets it.

Of course not. I just find it interesting that people declare there aren't much in the way of good jobs out there and I've hired 5 professionals or so within the last couple months, and am still looking because the 6 figure salary I can afford for the 6th might not be enough.
I don't care that he helped his family out. I don't care that he went fishing every day. I care that he collected money that came out of Federal bank accounts funded by MY taxes (you know, the taxes that I don't "pay my fair share on" since I have the audacity to work and be successful, which means I should pay my share and yours), and then used that money to pay down debt HE INCURRED. He wasn't using that money to keep himself fed or with a roof over his head. He was using it to pay off that Playstation 3 he put on credit or his big screen TV or a new set of rims for his car.
He's a thief, plain and simple. And if you applaud him for it, you're no damn better. This is the EXACT type of example taht speaks volumes as to the narcissim of so many people in America and the entitlement mentality they have. And I'll bet this is the same type of guy who screams from the rooftops that because I make a certain amount of money that my taxes should go up to in part subsidize his lifestyle.
Do you actually believe this guy? I wouldn't be surprised to find out his story was completely made up. Maybe he is just saying things to **** people off (if that is the case, he is doing a good job), or he is collaborating with you guys in an effort to make it appear everybody scams the system.
And do you oppose all those on "aid to dependent children" (welfare) who never worked in the first place but fill up their shopping carts via food stamps and live with rent assistance most of their lives? Why should those who have honestly labored not get assistance if these people do?
99 weeks, and still can't get a job, what about 3 years, 4 years ... just apply for welfare in your state.
Last time I checked, most on welfare don't have jobs. Whether you got to that place after being in labor, or not being able to get in the labor force, it is neither here nor there. You can't provide for yourself anymore.
I don't like it when anyone abuses welfare, do you. But
there are legitimate reasons folks go on it, and that is
why it's there. This may be one of those times.
Just don't call it unemployment compensation anymore, when it no longer meets the standard for such.

Right, b/c I'm responsible for paying off this guy's debt, sending him on fishing trips, paying relocation expenses, etc.? Riiiiiiiiiiiiiight. He had no worries except for maybe how he was gonna cook his fish that night.
ETA: UE is so you can look for another job. So, this guy looked for a job for 2 out of the 10 months he rec'd UE, which means he was lying for the rest of the time and scamming the system. How disgusting, and for the kicker, he's proud of himself. And you want to tell me abuse doesn't happen.
