So...better to keep offering them bread and circuses or let this happen?
I dunno oz..what are your opinions on this ?
Can the US even consider austerity measures that affect all people..not just working/retired people ?
The entitlement mentality is pretty strong in the US..the "it's my RIGHT" is rampant.

The leaders of htis nation are very weak willed, when the first riots happen and a dozen or so people are killed and a few city neighborhoods burned the bribes...oops I mean entitlement programs will be reinstated.
The only way I see it all ending is if the credit is turned off,and that is up to China.
Violent student protests are always a tool of the Progressive liberals. Remember Kent State?
Of course, I can't rep you for this post. However, you are so very right. I wonder how many libs here heard about the labor union people getting involved in the UK yesterday. They always manage to get students started and then back off and watch.
That is darned sure what is meant by Van Jones and others about Bottom Up. Once they get it going they have the opportunity to instill the Top Down and then comes the Inside Out.
What would you think if you were a student and the government suddenly decided to raise college tuition by a factor of 300% from a few hundred pounds a year to a few thousand pounds a year and not raise scholarship stipends? Would you think this is dirty pool? Britain like America is a disindustrializing nation and if anything this trend has gone even further in Britain than in America. There are not millions of jobs to be had in todays Britain.Where does Mr Cameron think these jobs are going to come from. Britain's dynamic industrial or services sector. Do you think Britains answer to Wall Street THE CITY has any need for a poor unwed mother in the East End or from up country who has just a school leaving certificate.? ( Remember there are just so many toilets that need to be cleaned every evening.
If you think so, I've got some marvelous paper from the Royal Bank for Scotland you may be interested in.
Can I pay for that paper with the fast depreciating American dollar?
????Run out of money? Half the planets wealth? ???20 Trillion dollars? How long do you think that will take at one billion dollars a day? I've absolutely heard everything today... ...
H
It may be that you have heard everything but you haven't learned a lot after hearing it. Do you really think that hauling in that "rich" people's money and letting others go will result in them leaving their money where our progressive government can get at it?

They've been talking about going after "rich people's money" for the better part of a year now.
You can bet your bottom dollar the truly rich have their money in a safe place (trust funds, foundations) where the taxman cannot go.
Who is left..why the NEW rich people making $200K a year.

I wonder why socialists can't see that someday the wealthy will run out of money and then who will supply all they need for redistribution? They really aren't as interested in redistribution as they are in gaining governmental power.
Based on the fact the incomes of the top 1% of income earners saw there incomes increase 214% between 1979 and 2007 I don't think that is an immediate concern.

No can do, I may be crazy but I am not dumb. Now if you can get some Gold Sovereigns (I like the ones with Queen Victoria on them) you might have a deal.
