Can the US even consider austerity measures that affect all people..not just working/retired people ?
The entitlement mentality is pretty strong in the US..the "it's my RIGHT" is rampant.

The leaders of htis nation are very weak willed, when the first riots happen and a dozen or so people are killed and a few city neighborhoods burned the bribes...oops I mean entitlement programs will be reinstated.

The only way I see it all ending is if the credit is turned off,and that is up to China.

Of course, I can't rep you for this post. However, you are so very right. I wonder how many libs here heard about the labor union people getting involved in the UK yesterday. They always manage to get students started and then back off and watch.

Do you think Britains answer to Wall Street THE CITY has any need for a poor unwed mother in the East End or from up country who has just a school leaving certificate.? ( Remember there are just so many toilets that need to be cleaned every evening.
If you think so, I've got some marvelous paper from the Royal Bank for Scotland you may be interested in.
Can I pay for that paper with the fast depreciating American dollar?

It may be that you have heard everything but you haven't learned a lot after hearing it. Do you really think that hauling in that "rich" people's money and letting others go will result in them leaving their money where our progressive government can get at it?

They've been talking about going after "rich people's money" for the better part of a year now.

You can bet your bottom dollar the truly rich have their money in a safe place (trust funds, foundations) where the taxman cannot go.

Who is left..why the NEW rich people making $200K a year.

Based on the fact the incomes of the top 1% of income earners saw there incomes increase 214% between 1979 and 2007 I don't think that is an immediate concern.

No can do, I may be crazy but I am not dumb. Now if you can get some Gold Sovereigns (I like the ones with Queen Victoria on them) you might have a deal.
