then why isn't college tuition given by grants, scholarship, or parents (above the gift tax level), taxed as "income" to the student? Can a real dollar value not be placed on it?

I don't think there should be any taxes, if anything more grants. You are correct, there is no price you can put on a college education.

Listen to the right wingers people! Let's make public education less affordable!

When those dead beats need to reach deep insider their pockets to pay for that improving their job prospects then we'll be better off.

1) Raise the cost of obtaining jobs skills via higher tax rates on the poor and middle class.

Reason #73 Why you should vote for right wingers and their ideas!

Disgusting isn't it? Fascism is right around the corner if people keep supporting the right wing extremists.

The most pathetic thing to me is they are actually asking for it. Demanding it.

Begging for benefit cuts so that that the wealthy can enjoy a few points shaved off their top end marginal tax rates.

In a day and age when the wealthy are better off than ever before, when the gap between rich and poor is the greatest it's ever been.

Is it not the liberals who want to raise taxes in the name of "social justice"? I want to know why liberals don't tax college tuition that has been received as a gift, grant, or scholarship as income.

The student who works to pay his/her tuition is taxed on that income are they not? Where is the justice in that?

Dont you ever get tired of ignoring the thread and just going off into your "I hate right wingers" replies? I'm sure you could program your computer to just reply with that in every thread and then you could just go away for the week. We'd get about as much substance out of you that we currently get..

You've had 22 postings here, how much "arguing" could you have done?

Is anyone who gets a W-2 salary rich ?
Because the truly rich do not have W-2 salaries. Their wealth is hedged and will not be the least affected if tax rates went to 100% of your salary.
