I also need to add he kept referring to " the gov funds, the gov money" Someone needs to inform him its NOT the gov's money. It is the citizens money. His logic is twisted

last time I checked our paychecks were paid to the order of _____ ( insert your name) Not pay to the order of the United States gov.

He also seems to think that citizens should pay taxes on their income and then have to pay taxes in the same income when you die. Which is taxing the same money twice. How is that fair? Oh thats right because he thinks Sam Waltons family money belongs to the gov

Oddly enough it was the Republicans that were able to get the civil rights legislation passed. The segregationist policies were enforced by Democrat sheriffs.

Now, can we return to the topic of the old Progressive Bernie Sanders and his filibuster?

I suggest you listen to some of these parts of his speech, you can ignore the commentary that follows, but don't ignore what Mr. Sanders had to say.

He speaks about something that scares the bejezeesus out of Republicans, facts.

Those were Dixiecrats who later became Republicans, but don't let the truth ruin your story

Still trying to hijack the thread? I know the progression of the party, thank you. It does not take awy from the fact that they were the ones who got civil rights passed does it?

Now, care to stop hijacking the thread and focus on Bernie Sanders? Is the bag of hot are still filibustering at this hour?

Bernie Sanders is a true Statesman. I listen to Bernie on The Thom Hartmann radio show on Fridays. The hour is called "Brunch With Bernie". He is brilliant, a real American patriot and most of all, he has a heart and soul. I just emailed him to thank him for his service.

He said Social security is fine dont believe republicans. Then goes on to say its fine for 29 more years and then it will only be able to pay out 78%. Well Mr Sanders its obviously not fine now is it? Its not fine for the future generations

I also loved the part about China spending 4xs more on infrastructure but he leaves out China isnt borrowing money from other countries. They arent deeply in debt.
Because as he is saying...we have given them all of our manufacturing jobs and the tax cuts should be going to reinvest in our infrastructure. What the hell is so hard to understand??? Cause and effect. The man is giving his kishkas (innards) to explain why we are where we are as a nation and how to reverse it. OMG!

The civil rights legislation passed on regional lines not party lines. If you don't want thread drift then don't take off topic cheap shots.

This man said more that, if acted upon, could actually help this country then all the other politicians put together have said in the last 20 years.
