at least in Florida. I read that 51% of FL births are paid for by Medicaid. I would guess other states are similar. I had no idea this was taking place. This get's me very angry.

It's one thing if later in a childs life an unseen event takes place where a parent needs to turn to the government for emergency help. I would rather private charity take that role but that's besides the point. It's a whole other situation when parent(s) bring a child into this world when they know from the start they need to turn to the welfare state. I take it the same parents who have medicaid pay for their childs birth will also turn to big government for a whole host of handouts. I would have to consider these parents the "enemy of the state" in the sense that they as much as anyone are the reason our deficit is so high and out of control.

Any parent who asks medicaid to fund the birth of their child should be sterilized so they don't produce yet another hungry mouth to feed at the taxpayers expense.

I could be wrong, but isn't this number largely due to the illegal aliens who use the system to bring in their 19 kids?

I don't see you and those of your ideology volunteering to pay the entire bill for those services, bob. Put your money where your mouth is. Pay up.

Medicaid gets a major portion of its money from the Fed Govt. The Fed Govt gets all of its money from taxes, I pay Federal taxes as well as various other taxes in the State of Fla(we have no State income tax). The combination provides the Medicaid funds. So I do pay up, as you say, and do not begrudge doing so.

Well now that depends, doesn't it? Are you in the bracket that pays twice its fair share? Or are you among the others who aren't pulling their weight?

I pay a good bit more than my fair share, as my income is less than $300K. But I don't begrudge that I pay more than what is fair. I begrudge those earning a lot more than I, who do not pay their fair share. I ceratinly do not begrudge those on the receiving end of Medicaid, in any way! They need it.

I pay federal taxes, state taxes (indigent health care is a big cost in Arizona) and health insurance. So make your minds up. Either health care is all paid out of taxes or it is not. It is unfair to expect individuals to pay twice ... once via tax and once via insurance.

They're paying the same rate you are. If you think they're not paying their fair share, then neither are you.

Pay up. Put your money where your mouth is.
