Social entitlement spending is out of control. Federal government payroll and retirement (non-military) are out of control. Federal regulatory agency budgets are out of control. And the list goes on, and on, and on.......
The US Military is a industry and War is proffitable. We would rather spend a huge chunk of our budget on the military rather than feeding & housing the homeless and the poor in this country. The priorities have been set.

ALL government spending is out of control, but I agree. We don't need, nor can we afford, to be the world's police. And we certainly don't need to be in the business of nation building either. Bring our troops home and close the majority of overseas bases. Our military would be better used to protect our borders than stationed in places such as Japan.
