The GOP though that the Iraq War was a noble effort against Galactic Evil.
That is until the mismanaged occupation all went to $hit.
Then it became a joint effort of "responsibility" with the Democrats?
If by "invade" you mean boots on the ground, I suggest we break it down, shall we?
Somalia was a hand-me-down from GHWB.
1995 bombing of Serbian forces? NATO operation, with international backing, backed by international law (genocide) and started to enforce UN safe zines. Led to the Dayton accords. Ground forces to enforce the Dayton accords? Part of the treaty.
1999 bombing of Serbian forces? NATO operation, with international backing, backed by international law (genocide). Led to UN taking charge of the territory. US participation in the former Yugoslavia (on the ground) was under UN auspices.
Bombing of Iraqi WMD-related targets in 1998? Not an invasion.
This is beautiful. She lays it out and blows to smithereens the liberal "narrative" on the Iraq invasion, the reasons for it and the intelligence behind the decision.
YES! That's exactly what the NeoConfused do when faced with the fact that Bush himself has said HE made the decision to invade Iraq. In other words, HE owns that debacle, lock, stock, and barrel.

Yesterday, Clinton signed into law HR 4655, the "Iraq Liberation Act
of 1998." In a presidential statement, issued by the White House,
Clinton said, "This Act makes clear that it is the sense of the Congress
that the United States should support those elements of the Iraqi
opposition that advocate a very different future for Iraq than the
bitter reality of internal repression and external aggression that the
current regime in Baghdad now offers. . . . On October 21, 1998, I
signed into law the Omnibus Consolidated and Emergency Supplemental
Appropriations Act, 1999, which made $8 million available for assistance
to the Iraqi democratic opposition. . . My Administration, as required
by that statue, has also begun to implement a program to compile
information regarding allegations of genocide, crimes against humanity,
and war crimes by Iraq's current leaders as a step towards bringing to
justice those directly responsible for such acts."
Bush kicked the inspectors out of Iraq and nobody else. End of story.
Votes that authorized war as a last resort were cast, and those who did specifically said that they trusted W to exhaust all forms of diplomacy first and foremost.
You broke it you buy it. Time you man up and did that for a change.
What's new? You guys love liars and defend the insanity that was Iraq.

Saddam is the problem and he cannot be part of any solution in Iraq.
Therefore, President Clinton's action today is the most appropriate
response to Saddam. Let him know that Iraqis will rise up to liberate
themselves from his totalitarian dictatorship and that the US is ready
to help their democratic forces with arms to do so. Only then will the
trail of tragedy in Iraq end. Only then will Iraq be free of weapons of
mass destruction.

I hope she runs for president in 2012, I would vote for Dr Rice without a second thought.
