Why is it odd? Cholera down there is a real dangerous problem and this is the time of year when Americans are making their end of the year charitable contributions. I think at Christmas it is highly appropriate as nearly all major charities have their mailings come out for donations right about Thanksgiving on through the end of the year.

My leftist remarks were specifically directed towards posters in this thread and forum.
Penn is doing a bit better for Haiti than he did in NOLA when he took a camera crew to record his works and they filmed the known anti-gunner when he blew a hole in the bottom of his rowboat with a shotgun.

Yes it's self promotion but she is also doing some good by reminding people that this country still needs an awful lot of help.
I might have been impressed- if Palin had made a SECRET trip to Fred Graham's compound, and maybe spent a month or two helping out in the infirmery or the soup kitchen. Then donated some of her bazillions to the relief effort. You know, "Don't tell the right hand what the left hand is doing", as the Good Book says.
Instead, she blew in and out of town, with a Fox News crew tagging along to catch every (brief) heart-tugging moment (sniff... where's a kleenex?) Bet Fox had its cameras so far up Palin's butt we'll get to see her tonsciles.
Pretty odd considering there has been a major uptick in both press coverage and requests for more donations over the past few weeks. But hey, anything to give yourself a chance to attack the women huh?
