When the Socialist mindset takes hold in a society and social entitlements become rationed it breeds first resentment and then violence in the form of riots in the street and property damage. We can clearly see this as the results of protest and riots in Greece, France, and more recently England.
When people feel entitled to sevices, education, medical care, food, and other goodies by the sweat not of their own labors, but from that of others whose wealth has been forcibly taken under the law and re-distributed to them they become possessive of those entitlements and consider them "rights" not to be removed or even adjusted to a lesser amount.
When rationing of those entitlements occurs they feel threatened as they are dependent upon others to do for them rather than having the ability and will to provide for themselves. Feeling threatened by their dependency they act out not like rational humans but like irrational animals.
Is rioting in the street, property damage, and threatening the lives of national figures really a proportionate response to tuition increase?
We've even seen this before in the US form those protesting World Trade and World banking summits.
Knowing this, why then do liberal Progressives, both in our federal government, as US citizens, and Socialist players on the world political and financial stages, want to see the United States go down this similar road?
What say you?

That someone has been watching Glenn Beck the past week. I've been watching him as well and these are the exact same propaganda talking points he has been spreading.

I will sit back and wait for some socialist type people to get this thread going down their road before I answer you although we all know how I feel about your whole idea.

Actually, no, my TV has been out for more than two weeks. This came to me as I was listening to the local and world news on the radio tonight. Nice try, but I think for myself.

Reason: Please discuss the topic, not each other.
This is precisely why we, as a society, should not allow ourselves to become government dependents. What the government giveth, the government can taketh away.
It will be interesting to see how the dependent class reacts when austerity measures are enacted here, on our home turf.

They will react just as the same kind are reacting in the UK, France and Greece today. They don't realize that they are becoming more and more dependent but they won't sit still when the austerity begins in the US.
That is why the socialist/"progressive" mindset is so dangerous. You do not have a "right" to food, education, or a job. The only thing we Americans have a right to are life, liberty, and the pursuit of our own ideal of happiness. The federal government needs to end all entitlements.
None of these talking points would be necessary if America actually appreciated it's working force with a decent livable wage. Then of course we have those that believe it possible for every American to start a business, blah, blah, blah. That thought process makes no sense at all. If everyone started a business there would be no working force to make business possible. America is divided, confused and has lost sight of the reasons these entitlements exist in the first place. There would be no need for these entitlements if people didn't feel as though their hard work was for naught. Take fast-food workers and the waiters/waitresses that work under the minimum wage because of business owner loopholes.
Mmm... lets see. Multi-billion dollar fast food joints as well as 'sit down' restaurants paying as little as they can and only working people so many hours as to not have to provide benefits is NOT honest and ultimately creates resentment and anger. They do it, so then everyone else finds the loopholes to make it even worse. Hence the waiter/waitress issue. Not to mention the BS dishwashers go through. (I've done that too - very hard and unappreciated work. WORK) Any of you ever work a multiple bus rush at one of these fast-food places? Just before closing time? Hell, a typical breakfast, lunch and dinner rush? Disgusting people with no respect that leave messes worse than a pig sty. Ever dealt with the rude, inconsiderate pompous people that snub their nose at the very people serving them the swill they came to order? Ever deal with this as waiter/waitress? I have. Not for a long time, but it is fresh in my memory. I remember thinking, and still do, what a special personality (as with any job) it takes to deal with all the above. Especially at some crappy wage that makes life a struggle instead of at least comfortable. It's definitely not mine. The people in these positions, fast-food and otherwise, get screwed everyday out of decent pay because of someones idea of what someone in those jobs deserves to get paid. THEY WORK THEIR ASSES OFF for SWILL PAY. (This is just ONE example - I worked several different jobs before landing my career in 1994 and NO ONE deserves the CRAP that IS minimum wage)
So go ahead and continue speak of resentment and irrational violence when this all begins with nothing less than the disrespect and greed of those that want more, more, more and get it by sh*ting on the American worker. Tit for tat, baby. No honor among thieves, hey?
