Please, by all means, act on your violent fantasies. The sooner you do, the sooner we can have dangerous persons such as yourself off the streets.

So, 17 is too young to make a decision like that? Interesting. You can enlist in the military (Delayed Entry Program) at 17 and that could very well be a life/death decision. How old is old enough to decide who to sleep with? 18? 20? 30?

This incident illustrates a very good reason to always carry a gun. You never know where the crazies are. Be aware, be alert, be armed.

to me this incident illustrates a very good reason not to sleep with someone's teenager daughter who is 40 years younger than you.

My grandpa had a saying.

Nail his business to a stump, give him a dull knife and light the stump on fire.

It doesn't say in the article that they have slept together, only that they have had a relationship.
Would you really allow crazy people to tell you how to run your life, who to love etc.?

You're not going to commit an irrational act of violence like this even if you did have the guts to do it (and you don't).

This is a sad ordeal. Now the daughter has to live with the results of this mess. Telling teenage girls what to do is an exercise in futility half the time. And when it comes to dating, the more you tell them to stay away from a certain guy, the more they usually want them. As perverse as a 57 yr old dating a 17 yr old might be, it's legal in Germany. And that's all that matters at the end of the day.

the reason i condone this type of vigilante behavior, is due to naive and smug attitudes like yours -- that the average person lacks the "guts" to do this.

i'm not convinced that this story is true... nor am i convinced that dad was 'in the right' -- we don't have the details, and he is more than likely a nutcase. But the point remains that if as members of society, we were all prepared to kill and/or maim the people who step far enough out of line, im convinced the world would be a better place. this is the american way, and i'm glad to see that at least a few Germans feel the same way.

I wonder if some of the reactions to this would be different if the father had been Muslim?

How, exactly, did this guy "step out of line"? He broke NO LAWS.
