I don't have those features on my camera or phone as they have very basic technology, but my teenage son thought it would be "cool" to make a facebook page for me (without asking) and even for the dog, LOL.
However, with my technological low profile I still ended up on a google map while I was just going for a walk. Didn't even know the van was driving by to take the picture. One day I was trying to show my husband where some body lived using the photo view on google maps, and there I was going for my walk. Not too happy about that.
Just about every computer program and phone app broadcasts some info about you. Many do it by just having it installed, even if you don't use the app or program. With enough information, a profile is built on you (a kind of permanent record on you!). The profile can pull lots of stuff from public records that are online and ones that are for sale. Even if you don't use a feature, the information is floating out there, being sold to the highest bidder. But lets all complain about the government, and getting them out of our lives, when the corporate world has a far deeper choke hold on you and most don't even know it.
What concerns me more, is that people can find you who want to do you physical harm if they keep a continuing record of your movements over a period of time.
Since only Repubs can afford to own those items, what's the problem?
Exactly! Interesting thread topic and I wasn't aware of this feature with flicker
