So do my family. They are the ones freezing to death. They were also the ones tending Olive groves in southern England earlier this year. That is correct. In the last five years it has become possible to grow Olives in England, something that was flat out impossible earlier. Europeans positively, absolutely and unquestioningly believe that the planet is warmer now than before. They live the results. Some 30K French citizens are dead because of summer temperatures for which their bodies, homes and infrastructure are simply unprepared for. American's want to deny GW or just as irresponsibly hold traverse hearings on whether or not the 'alleged warming' is man made or not. If not, then "oh well, it isn't our fault", if it is "the next generation will fix it, they're smart that way". We get what's going on. You don't want to do anything and we can't make you. They had 25 years (roughly) to engineer SOMETHING (a $20 box fan would have sufficed) to counter the heat waves they 'saw' coming. Yet they did nothing. Even after the first 10k dead? I mean, come on. If 10k people die from something in a short time, somebody's gonna notice. Oh wait, 25 years ago the doomsayers were touting Global Freezing. Gimme a break.
So, how many have died since the first 30k? Huh? I've not seen a lot of news on that issue - but it may (MAY) just be due to the influx of immigrants from warmer climes, I dunno.
The people who forecasted the end of snow are morons, because it shows they failed to understand how "global warming" can actually cause some regions to get MORE snow.
How so, you might ask?
Well, as the average temperature of the planet increases, it causes more water to evaporate, causing higher humidities. Now, what needs to be realized is that just because the average temperature is going up does not mean the end of below-freezing conditions, just less of it. It will still get bitterly cold very often--just less so--and when it does, that higher humidity is likely to cause bigger snows.
Now, if this thread is yet another person screaming "OMG IT GOT COLD AND SNOWY IN DECEMBER SO THERE IS NO GLOBAL WARMING!!!!!!!111" then that also shows a failure to understand the science...

Perhaps you should look at the fossil record of global temperature and climate change to understand "the science". After that, read about the effects of CO2 and temperature to understand "the science".
The problem with the global warming crowd is the perversion of science. Global warming enthusiasts take a premise, assume it is true, then manipulate the data to prove the hypothesis. In real science, one is disinterested in whether the hypothesis is true or not, only in the honest and objective pursuit of information. "Global warming" is a cult, not science.
There is no point in arguing science with politicians. So I will not bother except to say one of the basic predictions of global climate change is the extremes of weather would increase. The current events of 10's of inches of rain in California and feet of snow in Britain support this prediction.
Face it people don't understand when they walk outside and need a coat in winter why global warming is real. You can tell them until the cows come home and it just won't provide comprehension. Ignorance can run deep, in this case 10" of snow deep.

You are both right and wrong! Yes, your general assumption that higher humidities could cause more snow is correct. BUT, you are way off when it comes to all the snow in England. They already have plenty of humidity, but they rarely get temps cold enough for snow. LOOK at the temperatures
