Medicaid is getting cut in most states.

States Cutting Medicaid Benefits As They Stagger Under Economic Downturn - Kaiser Health News

"The study, based on a survey of Medicaid officials in all 50 states, found 20 states reduced or restricted benefits in 2010. That's twice the number of states as in 2009 and the highest number since the survey started in 2001. Thirty-nine states cut or froze reimbursements for doctors and hospitals, up from 33 states in 2009. The efforts are continuing; 14 states have plans to cut benefits and 37 to restrict fees in 2011. Yet despite the fiscal concerns, this year, 41 states made it easier to enroll or stay enrolled in Medicaid and a few states, such as Colorado and Wisconsin, are expanding eligibility."

If she lives in New Mexico she has very limited access to health care.

The obvious answer is to remain in perfect health until you die. The other is to raise Medicare and Medicaid payments until they are the same as private insurance in order to remove the discrimination against the government funded system. Pay for it with a progressive income tax system with a 90th percentile deduction.

Medicare and Medicaid are not being cut. In order to maintain the viability of such programs in the future, of course they will have to be cut. Medicaid probably will be cut first, as they do not have the voting base of medicare recipients and tend to vote much less per capita. Obamacare, if it actually survives, is designed to markedly increase medicaid roles, by dumping patients from private insurance into medicaid roles. Marked increases in the medicaid ranks will also demand cuts in benefits.

I find it interesting that the libs always villify FOX news, rather than adressing the issues. Further, why is it that liberals always have the presumption of superior intelligence? It is an entertaining as thier preoccupation with spelling errors.

It is also interesting that during the elections, FOX was found to be the most objective news source in evaluating the candidates. Perhaps if the other news sources were somewhat objective, we would not have Obama and the mess he has created.

It has little to do with FOX< but you are right. Medicare is not being elemilnated in any sense of the word. As for cuts, yes, we have already seen some of our co payments rise in the past 6 months or so. This will continue. Many doctors are not taking new medicare patients.

BTW, I think the OP asked about medicaid, not medicare. No, medicaid is not being eliminated either, but again many doctors have problems because the pay per treatment, from medicaid can be very low.
