First Ladies all adopt some sort of social cause. With Mrs. Bush it was literacy. Terrible person she was, trying to force our children to read.

Sure it is! It's perfectly fine to go out and chow down on whatever you want...in moderation.

Like I said (and you so conveniently ignored), treats are perfectly okay as long as you balance it out with good, wholesome foods and exercise.

As it is, people eat crappy food far too much and she is doing what she can to get others eating well. It's not going to happen overnight, but if a kid can replace their french fries with carrot sticks every once in a while I'd say she's doing a pretty good job.

For what it's worth, diabetes is mostly genetic. If it's in your genes then your going to get it regardless of what you eat or drink.

#1 Parents are killing their children by cramming McDonald's down their throats.

#2 Childhood Diabetes is somewhat genetic. But the epidemic IS NOT genetically based. It is a direct result of fat children being endulged by parents who are killing their kids with food. Diabetes will go away with proper diet and exercise. The disease can be put in check until late in life.

Palin has no right to preach about eating habits. Sarah behaved like an anorexic during the presidential campaign!

Quote:
Schmidt and campaign manager Rick Davis had heard concerns from both staffers and the press that Palin was dieting to the point of impacting her performance on the campaign. Palin, according to senior staffers, was concerned about not looking heavy on camera and was thoroughly obsessive about her appearance and every little comment that was made about her looks.

Our food supply is so screwed up, Michelle is just blowing comments into the wind.

Do some research on Monsanto.

We should be able to buy organic pesticide free and non-genetically modified food at affordable prices. That should be M. Obama's goal.

And McDonald's is just a poison to our body. How in the world can we call that a treat? There are hardly any healthy places to choose from if you want to dine out. That should be M. Obama's next goal.

She can put in salad bars, at the public schools, all day long. If the veges and fruits are full of pesticides and are GM products, she is wasting her ever loving time.

The program is not about her! Did you not get the memo?! We're discussing all the truly FAT people in America!!!

Many of our fellow citizens actually need exercise and portion control so that they DO NOT DIE FROM OBESITY!!!

But make this about the 1st lady. Go ahead. Deflect all you like. I doubt the First lady and her kids have any problem with portion control. And I am sure they are eating pretty quality goods.

As for your neighbors, not so sure.....

I agree. I think every public school should have a mandatory organic garden on premise They
would learn, and eat their own healthy fruits and
vegetables.

If it's good enough for prisons, it should be a given
in public schools

America is beautiful when you leave it alone. I do eat organic and that makes America beautiful to me.

M. Obama is wasting her time. She should be addressing the food supply and monopoly, but she won't. It's just a band-aid. Sounds good, but it doesn't fix anything. You would also see a tremendous change and turn around toward the healthcare system if the food supply was dealt with honestly. It starts with our food and our food choices.
