There is no doubt in my mind that people will be delighted to see the pics of the President and his family enjoying those beautiful beaches under the sun, in one of those ultra luxurious environment, and this, while they are home shoveling snow because they can't afford to take their family on vacation anymore, or maybe are housing a relative that has lost his house, if not helping financially a friend whose job has gone away.
I don't find it to be very clever, but that's only me.

President is a stressful job.

George Bush was playing golf right after 9/11.

I have no problem taking a vacation to his child hood home. Would you say the same if he were from Kansas and went home for the holiday? Hawaii is simply where he is from.

Obama and the dems have said they will postpone their vacations to get things down in the white house. The right on the other hand raised a pissy fit over it.

The image is different, to most people Hawaii is the vacation of a lifetime.
The trip to Spain was not what you can call a PR success either.
It is not the right time for this.

A Hawaiian vacation could run about 2,000 dollars, depending on the time of year one goes.

And the reality is that no President, not one of them, is ever on vacation while in office.

He's still in DC. Cool down. I don't believe it's snowing in DC, anyway.

And to those who go to Hawai'i fairly often (like myself) it's not a big deal. I have friends and family over there so I like to go a few times a year.

There are many people who come to my little piece of paradise to vacation...should I feel bad about living here?
