A major accomplishment for the Dems, getting Palin considered as a Presidential hopeful for 2012. Perhaps, if we work a little harder, we can help her win the nomination.
Name one measure where things have gotten better. I can't think of anything. The economy has taken a giant $hit and is showing no signs of life. We are the brink of a Korean war. China is upset with our spending and so is the rest of the world. We are still in Iraq and Afghanistan.
Time for the Democrats to take some ownership here. How are we any better off now than 2008, let alone 2004?
If one analyzes things, you will realize that things started going downhill when the democrats (Pelosi and Reid) took control of Congress. It has only continued and gotten worse with Obama's entry into the "field".
Any list posted here would be a futile waste of time. Your side doesn't give a damn about the real progress we've made as a nation. You'll find some way to call it all Socialist/Fascist/Communist or whatever other "ist" you can spit out without even really knowing what it means.
The fact of the matter is, this President has passed more major (and meaningful) legislation during his first 2 years in office, than Bush did in his entire first term.
October 22: Veterans Health Care Budget Reform and Transparency Act (http://en.wikisource.org/wiki/Veterans_Health_Care_Budget_Reform_and_Transparenc y_Act - broken link)
Wait a minute. For 2 years we have been told, by Obama himself even, that republicans are the party of no and that they can't get the people's work done because the republicans keep blocking stuff.
Now you list all this wonderful stuff the dems have passed which has obviously made everything better in my life.
So is it your contention that President Obama has been lying to us? Or is he just childish when he doesn't get his way?
I have no idea why I still find myself amazed at how wrong people can be on this forum.
I have no idea why I'm continually amazed by it either...

What part of not creating new embryos results in federal funds limited to existing stem cell lines do you not understand?

Obama doesn't have the power to do that and didn't. In fact, he renewed the Dickey amendment in 2009.
Further, he said he believes in upholding federal law:
Mr. Obama has not taken a position on the ban and does not intend to, Melody C. Barnes, his chief domestic policy adviser, said Sunday. The president believes stem cell research “should be done in compliance with federal law,†she said From New York Times
In compliance with federal law means abiding by the Dickey amendment, which he renewed in 2009 after he signed the executive order that basically hoodwinked everyone.

That's just so absurd it doesn't even rate a rebuttal.
There are always some scientists who cling to failed research for whatever reasons...grants, personal reputation, etc. It's just human nature for some to cling to something out of faith rather than fact and logic. I have no interest in my tax dollars going to faith-based research.
1/12/2010 California Prop 71 failure
Bioethics: Five years after a budget-busting $3 billion was allocated to embryonic stem cell research, there have been no cures, no therapies and little progress. So supporters are embracing research they once opposed.
California's Proposition 71 was intended to create a $3 billion West Coast counterpart to the National Institutes of Health, empowered to go where the NIH could not — either because of federal policy or funding restraints on biomedical research centered on human embryonic stem cells. http://www.investors.com/NewsAndAnalysis/ArticlePrint.aspx?
There are lots of articles, journals, etc., regarding the successes with adult stem cell research vs. embryonic, for those willing to accept facts which defy their faith-based belief in failed research.
I didn't realize that Obama has signed that many bills which will restrict credit, cause more harm to the Detroit 3, destroy our health care system, and eventially lead to increasing shortages of doctors and far more crowded waiting rooms.
The 'cash for clunkers' fiasco will undoubtedly go down as just another major assault & unadulterated looting and pillaging of the middle class, which is pretty disgusting for a party that is allegedly for the little guy, while his DOJ continues pushing subprime loans, asIBD (Investor's Business Daily) pointed out recently.
And the 'great recession' rolls on, with no end in sight, as well as the ongoing embargoes against oil drilling and exploration in the Gulf Of Mexico as well as nationwide.
I guess he'd rather bow down to Al Gore & Co. rather than putting hundreds of thousands of Americans back to work making serious $$$$$, which would result in the Treasury being inundated with trillions of dollars in new revenue from taxpayers and energy companies.
Another ignorant Democrat who flunked eighth-grade economics--wonderful.

Every Republican running in 2012 should keep asking " Are you better off now than you were 4 years ago?". That, alone, should help them get elected. And to think I used to believe George W. Bush was determined to bankrupt the country with deficit spending. He looks like a slacker now.
Sorry Charlie, unemployment under Bush...7.4% and rising. At the end of '09 Obama 10%. It's pretty clear which way the ship was headed under Bush, and while not completely ship shape under Obama, especially w/ his cave on the taxes, the number of jobs lost is FAR better than what Bush had.
Yawn. Democrats can't haven't both ways. Either Obama has passed all this stuff that has enriched my life, or Republicans have blocked all this stuff that has made me poor.
It's sort of like the Bush tax cuts. For year all we heard was that the tax cuts were for the wealthy. Only the rich saw any benefits, etc, etc.
Then the other day I see Obama say that by extending the tax cuts the average middle class family will save $3000 a year. Now why all the lying all these years?
