Once in a great while, but not in the last couple years at least. I toss mine straight away into the recycle bin. I just go online. My mom uses hers all the time because she doesn't like computers.

I forget the details but my moms bank recently made some changes and started providing certain info online and was going to start charging people for whatever it was they had been doing up to that point. She went into her local branch and made a STINK because she is savvy enough to know that it's mostly the elderly that will pay, and the bank is still going to save money since most people WILL go online. They agreed to waive her fees.

I think there is a whole group of people, mostly 55+, who are just never going to jump on the internet for one reason or another. I think it's a little premature for businesses to assume otherwise. Some don't care, they aren't interested in those people as customers anyway. But some things like personal banking and phonebooks are still going to be necessary.

And on't even get me started on businesses that won't take checks...hahahaha.

I do still use a phone book. I prefer to look through it then google local business. However when I find the names of the businesses that I am interested in I google for maps and other info. I also have never been able to stop using it for a note pad.
I would however prefer if I went and got one from the Chamber of Commerce or library then having 10 of them delivered to my door 6 times a year

Yes, just looked up a number this morning.

Should I have just called Directory Assistance and paid extra for it? Besides that, I can also look for the phone that matches the particular address I want, rather than have them ask me which one I mean.

I will give up my phone books when they pry them out of my cold, dead hands. I use both the Yellow and White pages regularly.

Of course, I don't do Smart Phones, Facebook, or Twitter so you know I'm old and set in my old-fashioned ways.

My landline is still a black rotary, and the sound of dialing the numbers is music to my ears.

If you have Win 7, you should be able to right-click on it and "Run As" Administrator or run it in compatibility mode to mimic a Win XP machine.

By different drivers.

The same day.
We just opted out from one of them on Saturday. For some reason we receive four or five different books. There was an email addy listed on the front inside cover. It's already in the recycling bin.

For just phone numbers? Rarely.

For finding the kind of business I need such as plumbing or appliance repair? Constantly. It's all right there at my finger-tips, organized by category of business. The internet only guides me to those businesses which happen to have a web address (many smaller ones don't) and even then, I have to wade through the paid ads, false fronts and other assorted garbage to find what I'm looking for. I can find it in the Yellow Pages in about 2 minutes.

On the other hand...I'm the kind of person who still misses the card catalogue at the library.

I still find it useful. That's because they charge the hell out of you for 411 info.

They work great for family dinners when you don't have enough child booster seats available.

If you're too short to see over the steering wheel, they work great for that too!
