I use the yellow pages all the time when looking for a business.
Then I can choose based on what I see.
The internet just cannot provide that for me.
I do use the internet to check on a company I've picked but don't use it to pick a company.
Not all advertise on the internet, especially the small mom&pop local companies.
Agreed. There's no substitute for the net to check out businesses, but there's also no substitute for the Yellow Pages.
I do, however, wish they'd limit how many are published. There used to be only one, printed by the phone company, but now there are several, each with different customers. We usually end up with 5 or 6 of the things and 4 of them go into the trash.

I agree. I keep the AT&T yellow pages and throw out the rest.

Why is everyone totally missing the primary issue here. It has nothing to do with yellow pages. It's all about government telling us what we can and cannot print.
If you have Win 7, you should be able to right-click on it and "Run As" Administrator or run it in compatibility mode to mimic a Win XP machine.
Thanks for the advice. I will definitely give it a try. (If I need further help, I'll direct message you rather than interrupting the thread again, if that's all right.)

WAKE UP !!!!
They're not outlawing the phone book! They only want the publishers to provide some way for people to opt out of receiving them. And to help pay the cost of recycling them. They are NOT saying no one can print the things.

OK, but we still don't need big government involved. This is not a government issue. We don't need big government telling phone book companies how to run their business.
[quote=zz4guy;17092710]I use my phone books all the time. The one in the car and the one at home. It sits right next to my PC with Cable internet.
Some things a book is just easier.
Agree 100%. I have one at each phone and one in each vehicle.
