Bill Maher has a special Christmas message for Oprah Winfrey: Tell your “worshiping flock to sit down and stop losing your Moderator cut: language over material stuff.” In a video on his website, the Real Time host called Oprah’s annual “Favorite Things” episode “one of the most deeply disturbing things I’ve ever seen on television,” Mediaite reports.
I caught one of those shows, and was equally disturbed about how the audience acted with every giveaway.
However, it was my understanding that the audience was specifically made up of people who had donated their time, money, and effort to charitable activities over the past years.
I suppose she wanted to recognize their efforts and reward them for their giving to others.
