And your point ?

The question was why do minorities vote Democrat when it was them that supported slavery.
I just gave an answer as to why I thought so.

I usually just post in the Austin Forum, and now I can see why. The Austin moderator is quick to put a stop to BS like this.

I am not easily shocked, but the racism, homophobia, and crazy evangelical rantings on this board are just over the top. I really need to just stop responding to certain posters.

At what point did it become okay to say "Black people are on welfare" and "Black people can't think critically" and "black people aren't individuals, they move as a collective".

I don't beat the drum of political correctness. But just plain old factual correctness would be nice.

Back in the Civil War era and before that, the Republican Party was considerably more liberal than the Democrat Party. They've basically switched places.

I don't see any post saying that but yours.
The title in the thread is "minorities" not Blacks.
Reading a bit more into this then you should ?

And campaigning to major voting blocs is nothing new; it's been done for centuries to get votes.

I read your post. To answer your question, my point is...

You said minorities vote Democrat b/e Dems give them welfare benefits, which is you saying "the majority of minorities are on welfare".

If I said Christians vote for Republicans because republicans support retarded jesus freaks, then I would be implying that most christians are retarded jesus freaks.

Only one of the above statement is true, I leave it to you to decide which one. HINT ***it's not the racist statement****

I am not playing a game of got you. What you, and others have said, was horrible.

NO..which is you interpreting what I posted. Those were not my words but yours.

I posted links of Obama's specific promises to both the Black minorities and the Hispanic minorities.
Both groups are fairly irked that Obama didn't come through on his specific promises to their group.
He did that to get their votes.

If you feel that my accusation of racism is unfounded, then you have defended yourself and moved on.

I think it's obvious that you and others on this thread have been saying very racist things, I have pointed that out, and now I have moved on.

We can let other posters decide who is right.

Default White Obama Supporters: More Lies

The truth is according to Slate.com that Obama had less of the white Gentile vote than most Democratic Candidates since LBJ. The thing is with the white statistics Jews and Hispanics are counted as white most of the time so those numbers are skewed anyway. Obama only averaged around 40% of whites overall but 54% of those 18-29. The most important win was Jews with about 80% because Jews have an inordinate amount of influence in the media, Hollywood and on college campuses.

Another misnomer is the historical Black vote pre 1948. From 1876 until 1948 the black vote in the USA was so tiny it was inconsiquential. This is because before WW2 most black people lived in the 13 former Confederate states. Of these states only Missouri Kentucky and Tennessee had fairly open voting laws the rest had restrictive voting laws. These laws were formed to destroy the Republican party in the south and they worked. Only the three above states had a two party system.

1948 was the critical year because it was the first election since the massive population shifts as a result of the war. When people moved into the cities such as Cleveland Detroit Chicago Gary Flint Rochester Buffalo Newark Baltimore and Philadelphia all city politics had since the 1920s been controlled by political machines a coalition of Jews and Irish/Italian Catholics. These two groups controlled the labor markets in every major city back then. If you wanted a job you did as the machine told you to do. That included voting. The machine even rewarded you with perks.

If you got a good job at the steel plant and the party machine workers coupled with the labor unions registered you to vote and gave you a list if you wanted to keep from being laid off or losing your house who would you vote for?

After white flight the machines died and were replaced by coalitions who over time became almost all minority though the old money continued to flow.

As for the south if all your northern cousins voted Democrat and the people registering you to vote tended to be Jewish kids who were Democrats from New York City who would you vote for? Answers itself.

It is an American taxpayer problem. We taxpayers must support the consequences of misguided but well meaning legislation.

I suggest you look at the Great Society that was created by LBJ and the Democrats. This set the stage for the destruction of the Black family. It encouraged women to have babies out of wedlock thereby gaming the system out of more money from the government for their own comfort. Before the LBJ Welfare system was made an entitlement, 70% of the Black family was intact. Today the number is 33%. Gereartions of Black young men fail to intergrate into society becuse of legislation. If you don't see how that has harmed generations of Blacks in the cities, then there is no hope in this debate.

Democrats and Republicans both continue to make more and more people rely upon the government. The more you have to rely upon the government, the more the government controls your life. The WIC and the Welfare system over the last 46 years has proved this beyond a shadow of a doubt in my mind. The US government is hell bent upon more and more control over all of Americans, not just the minorities.

Wake up and realize the less control the US government has over its citizens, the more free they are to pursue life, liberty and the pursuit of happiness. By the grant of government under the Constitution from the "PEOPLE", it is the PEOPLE that are charged to control the government, not the government controlling the people..

If black people weren't a special interest group, then why would they vote the same way,as you stated?

What is your good reason?
Your options are incredibly limited actually,as most people CANNOT bring themselves to vote for a party that does not have a chance of winning.

Hence why the two party system is so strong in this nation.
Then if neither party offers more than lip service, why only critisize blacks for lack of critical thinking when it comes to voting. That was my point.

Blacks are not an interest group because they just aren't. That's common sense. We don't hold meetings to discuss who we're ALL going to vote for. We just happen to vote pretty much alike. And it's basically because we think the OTHER party is a worse deal. Nothing more, nothing less.

My reason? Lot's of 'em. But me explaining that to you goes against what i stand for....namely, that black folks don't have to explain anything to non-blacks as to who they vote for and why. That's my business. If you were a friend, i'd have no problem telling you.

And me personally, i would like for there to be more options than the simple 2 party system....but alas...i have to work with what i have.
