It was good of him to expose a weakness, but amazingly dumb to advertize it in the internet to the terrorists.
I don't disagree; but, was it a crime?
Yes, the Federal Marshalls likely had every right to re-claim the federally issued firearm, but did the county Sheriff's Dept. have the right to rescind his CCW before he is charged with a crime?
I think that we can find the TSA being just a bit heavy handed for the way they reacted to this pilot exposing one of their main search errors to public view. At least they think they have got even with him. An interesting story if you have ever been mistreated by the TSA.

Why did they have the right to re-claim the firearm?
If these issues were brought to the attention of the TSA before he went public with them and they were ignored then he may get some sympathy from me. Otherwise I hope they throw away the key, he's only looking for attention.
Yes, he is looking for attention. Attention to a security weakness that TSA refuses to address.
If you like the Nazis, you will love TSA. Our government is totally out of control.

Going back to the original story, it is suggested that the pilot breached federal security measures. I would think that would be a breach in the contract under which he was federaly licensed to carry a federal weapon in the ****-pit. I only surmise this, if you have actual details regarding the federal requirements for pilots in regard to cockpit carry, please post.
My question is more about why the local county Sherrif's Dept. got involved and what their jursidiction was over his private CCW in this matter. A breach of contract is not necessarily a crime. So, has a crime actually been committed by the pilot? Anyone?

I have not read of any charge. Nor have I read of any charges against the "Don't touch my junk" guy either.

What charges..what crimes did they commit ?
Embarrassment of Government, a felony.
