Republicans.

Sarah Palin is widely considered to be a leading candidate for the 2012 GOP presidential nomination. And while an October story in Politico made a splash (and drew Palin's wrath) by quoting anonymous Republican "insiders" attacking Palin, we've noticed a different, striking pattern in recent weeks: More and more prominent Republicans are publicly voicing doubts about Palin.

When you gather together, as we have below, the recent criticisms and misgivings voiced by Republican operatives, politicians and commentators, it becomes clear that Palin, if she has presidential ambitions, has a serious obstacle to overcome even within her own party. It also suggests that Palin would perhaps not be the powerhouse front-runner of a GOP primary that some have made her out to be. Here's a look at the recent criticism, in reverse chronological order:

Just goes to show that a person can be a Natural Born Citizen and still not be qualified to hold public office.

Sarah would run against the elites of both the Republican and Democrat parties as well.
People in Washington are scared of her because she is not one of them and would IMO be a great contrast against the leftist dictator Obama.
Right, Rove and others like him don't like out of the beltway people running. Meanwhile the people don't want Rove, Huckabee, Romney, McLame or anything like them running.

I don't know if Sarah would want to run anyway. She may like making 10 million a year and playing King/Queen maker instead.

She is not an elite out of the beltway of Washington DC, so she is rubbing all the beltway Republicans and Democrats the wrong way the same as Ronald Reagan did.

The attached article merely says what most people already know. Sarah Palin has absolutely no chance of being elected President and if, by some miracle, she were to get the Republican nomination she would lose in a landslide. Intelligent Republicans understand that which is why they are saying it now. That way, the Republican party has time to find a candidate that can offer a real challenge to Obama.

Yup, and it pissed a lot of conservatives off.

The reality now is that the GOP created Palin, but may not be able to bring her back down to earth. If her ego is as bad as her stupidity she will run for president and the Republicans know this will be a complete disaster. Obama already whipped her before and polls now have him 22 points ahead of her. That would only get worse after she's forced to speak to the "lamestream Media" or Gawd forbid...have a debate with Obama.

Can you picture her walking onto the stage, shaking his hand, and saying, "Is it okay if I call you Barack?".
