Considering the fact that George W. Bush was reelected, I'm not sure that I share Oprah's confidence in the intelligence of the American public.
Another bad poll, the biased is dripping off the thread.
Oprah stopped her show because she was smart enought to see that her ratings were going down hill!
Obama being elected shows that people don't always vote with their brains.
Palin is far more qualified than Barack Obama, but I wouldn't vote for her, due to the reason that I'm convinced we have more qualified people with a business background.
IMO, we do not get qualified people to run because of the way we treat them and thier families.
Anyone smart enough to do the job would be smart enough not to.
Well said, which leads us to another fact. Career politicians do not run for office out of a sense of civic duty, but out of a strong desire for power. They are more than willing to be abused as long as they get the power which also leads to money.
Very smart woman, that Oprah, but she may be wrong about the intelligence of the voters....It seems that many here would have preferred Mcain/ Palin over Obama/Biden...What does that tell you?

The past 3 presidential elections have been more about the choice of lesser evils than about who is most qualified. When picking a poison logic is left by the wayside.
If the Repubs field Sarah as their candidate, the Dems should run with Oprah, the Independents with Mike Gravel, and the Libertarians with Ron Paul. Then we could see how stupid the American electorate really is.
