GOP-controlled House To Open Congress With Reading Of Constitution...

The goal, backers said, is to underscore the limited-government rules the Founders imposed on Congress - and to try to bring some of those principles back into everyday legislating.

Very interesting article. Now I want to see it reported that they did this and that all Representatives, both Republicans and Democrats, were present when the reading took place.

There is so much in Article I that most Congresscritters don't seem to know is there that needs to be known by them.

Moderator cut: Please discuss the topic, not each other.

Thank you.
The progressive element of our population will view this act with much disdain.

Exposure to the flu by people who don't want it can work the same way when they breathe in the germs. Exposure to the Constitution can work the same way for members of both parties who seem to not know just what is there.

I understand the flu analogy. I like it.
However with so much personal agenda that we have seen in all three branches of government I still fear that the reading will fall on deaf ears from both sides of the isle.

It'll just be viewed as the work of the drama queens that it is

Finally the transparency we were promised.

Thanks to the GOP.

What happened to that idea of "I will not sign any bill until 5 days after it has been posted so everyone can read it" line.

Finally back to the real America and what we are about.

From the article:
Quote:
..."new rules also will try to bring some restraints to lawmaking after decades in which both Republican and Democratic leaders whittled away opportunities for real legislative give-and-take.
The biggest changes would make it easier to cut spending and harder to create entitlement programs, while imposing restrictions that could keep leaders from jamming massive bills onto the House floor before lawmakers have had a chance to digest them."
Good! The days of the Pelosi-style smash-and-grab looting of the American taxpayers is OVER!!!
