She just wanted camera time, this incidents happen quite often in boring states like Texas where people have nothing better to do than go after their 15 minutes of fame.
Texas is not boring. Btw, the victim is from Austin. If Austin is so "boring", then why have all of the californians overrun the city by moving there?

Are you going to begin tipping them in the future?

You know, once everyone accepts that they are providing a service?

We don't pay TSA agents enough (~$25000/yr) or give them enough discretion to "use judgement". We use a low pay assembly line approach to passenger safety and screening. The job description is mechanical - press this button, look at this screen, patdown using this exact procedure. A more expensive approach requiring more training and higher salaries would be the border agent approach - look you in the eye and ask probing questions - look for sweat and inconsistencies. But then there would be an uproar over grilling granny and making her cry, being asked for documents, and for asking police state type questions & interrogation methods.

It's hard to get any elected politician to speak out against the pat-downs. They don't want to be seen as soft on airline safety and worry about the repercussions if a terrorist did slip through as a result of of backing off on pat-downs. This can only lead to increasing security procedures as no politician will call for relaxation of security methods.

You have the option of being examined (scan and/or patdown) or not flying.
You can walk away before you start the security process. But once you start you cannot back off and walk away 1/2 way through. That is just what a terrorist would do if he started the process then realized he was going to be discovered.

I am outraged. This woman was made an example of and I hope she keeps fighting. The message is if you don't want to be molested stay home. She isn't the one that needed to be arrested.

And the sheep walked by and submitted I bet. Lets *give* away our freedoms. They can't be taken unless you let them.

Yeah, but a terrorist is a person who would buy a ticket in the first place.

Every ticket holder needs to be treated with Presumption of Terrorist.

I mean, it's only logical.

The people most accepting of the pat down are the terrorists.

They know if they resist, their mission will be cut short, so they always accept the pat downs.
