I just wrote to my States Senator on-line, a NO, and will be calling the Senator, if I can get through, for a voice confirmation of NO as well.

This is a response from a good American. Getting involved and telling our representatives as their employers is key in by the people for the people. Good job

Surely do not give him any more ideas like this since he now has control over the banks, food, transportation, money etc.
I guess you and most on here won't even bother to read the link. This bill is being sponsered by Joe Lieberman not Obama. He is an Independant who is friendly towards republicans. So before you blame the Pres on this, at least read the link.

I find those recent big brother and silencing tendencies worrisome. Who would have thought one would ever have to write this about the US instead of some banana republic...

How come you only project this onto Obama and not every other President we will have in the future? It's not like he would take the power with him ya know.

This would be an interesting question if it's wasn't framed to be an Obama bash.

1. Joe is a former lefty. He is only conservative regarding Israel and military issues.

2. The article, which I read, says that the United States would not be the only country to give the head of state the power to shut off the internet. We would join alongside countries like China and Iran who in the past have restricted the internet from their citizens.

-- Great, that just gives me the warm fuzzies.

Now why is this a national security issue? What emergency would warrant a shut down of the internet?
