With the major dislike for both democrats and republicans, are you going towards more extreme and radical politics? Are you ripe for demagogues and charismatic leaders? Are you more interested in radical intellectuals?

I would say 99% of the sitting politicians are demagogues and/or charismatic leaders already. The ones who are not are not elected.

Truthfully, i think many people are. This mid-term election was pretty good proof of that. And if you think the Tea Party has pushed sensible Republicans into being nutty, you aint seen nothing yet. Wait until 2012...the things that'll be coming out of the Republican Primaries will astound you.

Americans have shown over and over that they dislike extremes, either left or right, enough said.

I don't know..in the past, perhaps. But even then, when i look at Jim Crow and some of the rhetoric that came out of that period, i think Americans can actually be QUITE extreme.

Not to mention that a large majority of Americans belong to the Boobwahzee....

I don't put anything past "Americans." Not being cynical, but i have my doubts.

If it can happen in a modern, educated society like Germany.....it can happen here too.
Don't for a second think that some Americans wouldn't turn on their own in a heart beat?

You betcha.....Steve

Intellectuals aren't do-ers. They live in the theoretical world. The Obama administration wouldn't be such a crapfest if he had less people from academia advising him. Now they are all running back to their universities with their tail between their legs.
