Your very correct all Presidents do need Vacations, but not the ones who are not getting any work done, and getting a downhill, gloomy, lopsided economy going and back on it's feet, with the housing the worse double dip figures we have ever seen, and going down down down, think your home values are low now, just wait. Unemployment figures also they said will be raising, better believe he needs a vacation, needs to talk about how he has screwe- things up.
He'll make all those issues his top priority after this vacation.
Yeah he will. (little boy voice)
Seriously folks, unemployment has not reached 'crisis' proportions yet. When it does, he'll get right on it, I'm sure he'll focus on it like it's a community center meeting.
Well, he is a left wing spender/waster. Why should his vacation reflect a different view ???
We all know that the left thinks that money grows on trees. He and his administration do not care about our economy. They are buying votes and wasting cash via entitlements, fatty handouts to green energy companies(ie GE) and subsidizing programs and products americans do not want. All the while, escalating class warfare and destabilizing the US.
Happy New Year... Can we fast forward to 2012 !?!?
You may be very disappointed with the results. Be careful what you wish for.
So like I said, where was this outrage when Bush was setting records for taking time off away from the White House?
Personally, I don't understand what the big deal is. He's the POTUS and leader of the free world. That comes with its fair share perks and the infrastructure to ensure his safety is costly and cumbersome. That's not going to change no matter what letter they hang next to their name.
George Bush had a great economy. 4.5% unemployment until the dems took over both houses.
The Bushes went to their own ranch. Not Paris, Hawaii and other exotic vacations.
Funny how marxists, like the obama's, see evil in luxury except when it involves them. They live high on the hog when they get power.

What costs, other than lodging, did the Bushes not incur in their vacations? Did the president not have to be protected? Did the protectors not have to be housed and fed? Did the family and gawd knows who else they took along not have to be flown to Texas?
The old "that's different" is one of the lamest excuses in the book!
Where did this belief come from that Presidents need to temper their lifestyle to the economic climate in the country? He made it to the top and should enjoy the perks...or at least that is what you free market, capitalist Republicans love to talk about when it's someone else.
NOT on somebody else's dime. That's not free market capitalism, thats leeching and sucking on the taxpayer.
How awful, to be sent to Hawaii for Christmas! Maybe they asked for volunteers. If the Pres. was at Camp David, the SS was there, too. They weren't with their families wherever they lived.
Did their families get to join them? NO
Surely you're not equating the level of security, personnel and cost required for this lavish vacation in Hawaii with what would be required if he stayed at Camp David, are you?
Add 200 million per day on his last trip and I would say he has broke the bank this year with the spending on vacations.
I believe he needs a vacation but not every other month and not spending millions of dollars at the time when the economy is worse then any time since the depression.
I do not mind him taken a vacation with his family but this spending and amount of vacations is way over the line.
People living in tents and going hungry and he goes and spends millions on a vacation.
His judgment is very poor to say the least.
When you have posts like this one, you know that you're wasting your time debating this topic. It all becomes pretty obvious: "i don't really care about presidents taking any vacation they want to take, but since i hate Obama, he can't take a vacation that i deem to be too nice for him and his family....especially if i can't afford it myself."
Why these people won't just come out and say this goes over my head. That's why i said in another thread that on C-D, reading between lines isn't a choice, it's a necessity.
In any case, this pathetic thread and its equally pathetic responses have already taken up too much of my time.

There is no comparison.
Why should he go to Camp David for Christmas? I'm willing to bet, if you look into it, that the highly revered Bushes, Reagans, etc went to their homes in Texas and California on Dec. 26.
You don't think the POTUS needs security at Camp David? Think again. And while the Bushes (both) apparently did spend Christmas Day, if not the entire time between the end of one congressional session and the beginning of another at Camp David, many other presidents, including the Repubs, did not.
