Great countries are know by how they treat their citizens.
The US is not faring too well in that respect.

How droll.
Somewhat pathetic post - asking citizens to leave because they see the US warts and all.
Do you tell the teabaggers to leave the US, too?

Think of how great America could be if all the people telling you to leave followed their own advice

I guess then, it doesn't matter who you vote for or how the US is moving.
Because hey, if you don't like it, you'll leave.

The OP says he doesn't like being an American. I'm just suggesting he put his money and feet where his mouth is and move to another country that better meets his needs.

Why live in such a terrible place when all these other great countries are just waiting?

Want to call me more names now?

There is no better country than the US. PERIOD. We're not perfect and never claimed to be, but we strive for liberty and we have bailed the rest of the world out of all kinds of jams that they couldn't handle for themselves. Millions of people want to come here...many illegally...so we must be doing something right. Millions of illegal aliens can't be wrong.

Go on...call me names.

Working great for me also. I just got a nice raise, my vacation time is increased to over 4 weeks a year now, the people I work with are a great group. The U.S. treats me as I treat it. How's it treating you?

Do you know what teabagging is. Well probably.....

You are using a filthy term for the tea party movement, which doesn't proclaim hatred for the country, but addresses the fact that our elected representatives, are representing their OWN desires above those of the people. Of coursed that was evidenced by the last election..

I haven't been whining, have I?
Teabaggers called themselves that. Too bad you can't acknowledge that.

Of course I know what teabagging is, I have a delightfully diverse and fun sex life. Don't you?

Not to be off topic, but you realize that the Tea Party used that term initially to describe themselves.

Also, Tea Party candidates really didn't fair well in the election. They had a win rate of 32% overall. The vast majority of candidates lost.

Tea Party members are too conservative. Many candidates denounce evolution. They do not understand the spending for education is a good thing, whereas over militarization has contributed to many of the geopolitical problems we are currently facing. Tea Party candidates appease a base with less education than the average (yet slightly higher incomes), a significantly whiter demographic, and a slightly older demographic.

So should we really move forward with a group of people whose interest lay in preserving an idealized vision of the past? That seems illogical to me. There is a reason why the Tea Party's base is more blue collar than the rest of the nation. They see the changes in our nation and do not know how to cope. They feel that by clinging on to the past, their livelihood would remain in tact. However, they feel that a "liberal agenda" is to blame. Not changes in geopolitics, economics, and technology.

Many of these people want to get into government, yet dislike government. I would not want to have a teacher who hates the idea of education, or a doctor that hates modern medicine. It seems fairly ridiculous.

By working with the forces that have changed our world, we can harness that to become more competitive. If we fight against the rising tide (which the Tea Party advocates), we will surely drown.
